3000 FPS
There is a brand new, experimental 3D movie system they’ve been experimenting with.
It’s based on both a camera system and projection system that runs at 3000 frames per second.
This more than ten times the current common movie and video frames per second.
The idea is show several frames of slightly different focal lengths to give the impression of depth.
Combined with some added sound and motion tech, this might end up being indistinguishable from the real thing.
They tested this on a small audience recently.
Bottomless Well
There is this family that moved from the big city and bought a farm in North Dakota.
They found a well on their land, but the realtor told them the well hasn’t ever been used.
So one day, they tried, just for fun, to see how deep the well was.
And no matter how carefully they listened, they could never hear any rocks hit the bottom.
And no matter how strong of a light they shone down the well, they could never see the bottom.
And they checked the records, and nobody has any official documents from when the well was dug.
We Need A Plan
Once a small town was on the brink of extinction due to businesses and people fleeing.
So the city council figured they would try something drastic, if only to attract tourists.
So they passed a law so the only food within the city limits that could be bought or sold had to come in a can.
Gorilla Man Origin Story
Once there was this little boy.
He loved animals.
He loved going to the zoo.
When he grew up, he wanted to become a zoo keeper.
So he got a degree in zoo keeping.
And after ten years of hard work and dedication, he finally became the head zoo keeper.
Damn Kids
But he was absolutely disgusted with the behavior of children at the zoo.
Particularly how they would relentlessly taunt the gorillas and get them to crash into the thick glass wall.
So, one night, he replaced the thick bullet proof glass with regular glass.
The next day, the kids came like they normally do.
They taunted the gorilla like they normally do.
Oops…
But this time, the gorilla broke right through the glass.
As did all other gorillas.
Then he led his gorillas on a rampage through the city.
Terrifying residents and destroying property.
They put the zookeeper in jail, but he said it was worth it.
Didn’t See These Guys Coming
What they did expect was to attract the mafia coalition that secretly runs the canned food industrial complex.
They quickly took over the town, and turned it into a canning empire.
Now the city council are controlled by, and kept on a short leash by the coalition mafia.
Here’s Your Canned Cheeseburger
And everywhere in town, you can only buy food in cans.
And if you go to a restaurant, they’re only allowed to bring you can of food.
They aren’t even allowed to open it.
Drones Can’t See
They called in some archaeologists who sent some drones down as far as they could.
They still haven’t found the bottom.
They took some samples from about 500 meters down and carbon dated them.
According to the results the well, or at least the bricks that were carbon dated, are at least 4000 years old.
Nobody has any idea who built the well, or why.
Too Real
They created a short, ten minute jungle movie.
They filmed an actual jungle, and used CGI to put in some gorillas running at the audience.
They were so realistic, that two of the audience members had heart attacks.
So now, instead of creating this for the entertainment industry, the company making the experimental 3D movie system is trying to sell it to the military.
For training, or perhaps for interrogation purposes.
