Pace and Lead
Robert Collier, super genius copywriter, once said, that if you want to change somebody’s thinking, you need to first enter the conversation already taking place in their mind.
If you wanted to walk up to a group of strangers on the street and sell them some winter coats, you should start by entering the conversation they are already having.
Then slowly guide the conversation toward the purchase of coats.
The linguistic way to do this is by pacing and leading.
A pacing statements is something they will agree with.
A leading statement is something you want them to agree with.
So long as the leading statement is not so far out there, they’ll generally accept it.
And once they accept it, that leading statement, which is now believed to be true in their mind, can be the next pacing statement.
This is how you slowly shift from where they are, to where you want them to be.

When you put embedded commands in the leading statement, it will be much easier for them to accept.
