Silver Brain
Language and thought are two sides of the same coin.
Studying language is a trip down a never ending rabbit hole.
Not things like nouns and verbs, but language itself.
Like why we have it, but nobody else does.
Super Penguin
Like penguins and kangaroos.
Some animals can make and respond to basic sounds.
Crows and monkeys make sounds based on changes in their environment.
The sudden appearance of predators, for example.
They make certain sounds, and everybody else responds to those sounds.
But for humans, nobody really knows much about language.
How it works, where in the brain it starts.
Another related human-only trait is something called a “collective memory.”
People take their experiences, and share them.
The use words to explain their experiences.
And these words go into other people’s brains.
So if the dude explaining the experience is articulate enough, and tells a good enough story, that “story” is now in everybody’s brain.
And so long as that story is passed down through the generations, that story will remain in the “collective memory.”
This means the “collective intelligence” of any group of people can keep getting bigger and bigger.
All based on how well the original storyteller can use their words.
Most people don’t think about words, and speaking, and language as an improvable skill.
Most people just think it’s something that we do.
Something some people are good at, and others aren’t so good at.
But consider that language is something that can be improved.
Or how well you use your language.
Game Trumps All
A couple of guys who have more or less that same stats trying for the same lady?
The guy with the best “game” is going to win.
After all, what is game other than how well you use language?
The better you can speak, the better you can think.
The better you can think, the better you can speak.
Or how about two guys going after the same job with the same qualifications.
The guy that is going to get the job is the guy with the best game.
Of all the things that propelled humans to the stop of the food chain, language is one of THE most critical reasons.
Which pretty much means that language is the ONE thing that you can improve on that will have the most impact on the quality of your life.
Improve your language, improve everything.
