The End of Magic
One curious thing that happened in the middle ages was the invention of the printing press.
Before the printing press was invented, people had to write things based on what they heard.
This is why all those old school written documents have letters that don’t seem to make sense.
The only people who really had a kind of codified writing system were the monks, and they only wrote about church stuff.
Power of the Press
But once they invented the printing press, this kind of forced everybody to use the same letters, even though they were speaking different dialects.
But one thing that this eliminated was magic words.
Because magic words were based only on local dialects, and local sound.
The printing press eliminated all written records of local dialects.
Would Be Heckler
Once this guy went to a hypnosis show.
But his only goal was to heckle the guy up on stage, and make him look silly.
So he pretended to look hypnotized, and his plan was to act like he wasn’t really hypnotized.
Then he was going to challenge the hypnotist to hypnotize him, and when he couldn’t hypnotize him, the hypnotist would be ruined.
But they hypnotized new that he was only pretending.
So Deep Nobody Knew
So before the heckler came out of his fake hypnosis, the hypnotist used some very, very powerful anti-heckler hypnosis, and put in some covert and very deep post hypnotic suggestions.
So covert, and so deep, the heckler feel asleep, and nobody but the hypnotist knew what was going on.
I have these weird friends who have these punctuation ambiguity contests.
No Periods Allowed
They say bunch of random sentences that are only joined by a common phrases that doesn’t have a period that normally ends the sentences become longer and longer.
They each take a turn, and whoever gives up has to drink or smoke or whatever other mind altering procedure the game is based on self hypnosis.
It’s hard to come up with punctuation ambiguity is often used in newspaper headlines aren’t nearly as they used to be verbs are kind of linguistic equal signs are often easy to miss.
Russian Rappers
They copied this from a rap battle they saw while in Russia.
Only instead of rapping, they competed by using ambiguities, and whoever could create the most confusion in the audience would win.
After all, winning contests can lead to growing back accounts, and if you want to grow some bank accounts in your back yard, you’ll need to be sure to have lots of space for the roots.
She’s Crafty
Hypnotizing strippers can lead incorrectly remembering experiences.
Strippers are pretty attractive to begin with, so when they start walking toward you, most normal guys will get a bit nervous and be unsure what to say.
Then when two or more strippers approach you, but before the thought in your brain turns into a sentence, they hypnotize you, will later give you an incorrect memory of what happened.
You’ll just wake up a few hours later with all your credit cards maxed out and all your money gone with no idea of whether or not this was worth it.
Scientific Brainwashing
On the other hand, brainwashing scientists can lead to collapsing societies.
For example, you might brainwash a lot of scientists to believe electricity is created by magic.
Then they’ll go on TV and brainwash the population into believing something that’s not true.
Then it will get dark and people will respond by collapsing all the societies they can find.
Must. Keep. Digging.
For the next month, he would wake up, go out in his back yard, and dig for an hour.
Then he would go straight back to sleep.
Further, he wouldn’t notice all the dirt in his bed the next morning.
This was included, as an added bonus, to the post hypnotic suggestions.
Eventually, his neighbors called the cops thinking he was burying bodies.
The cops came, and since he not only negatively hallucinated the hole in his back yard, but the dirt in his bed, the cops took him the looney bin.
Be Careful Who You Heckle
This is what happens if you try to outsmart a skilled mind reading hypnotist that has a zero tolerance heckler policy.
The reason why no written magic spells work is that you need to pronounce them in their original local dialect, which of course was destroyed once they invented the printing press.
