It’s easy to get caught up in metaphysical metaphors about reality.
For example, when people talk about the Law of Attraction, it’s common to refer to your intentions, on the inside, and “The Universe” or some other vague description, on the outside.
Now, don’t get me wrong, this is a great way to visualize. One thing that can trip up us humans is complicated images and mental sequences. Bottom line is humans don’t really like to think about complicated things. The simpler and idea is, the more likely we’ll take it on.
For example, if the secret to achieving an unlimited life of wealth and wicked relationship success was to imagine some horrible complicated visualization filled with accurately displayed chemistry and physics equations, we’d all be broke and lonely.
So something like the Law of Attraction is powerful in part because of its simplicity.
Basically, there’s two parts. There’s the “thing” you want to manifest. Whatever it is, picture in clear, vivid, rich images, sounds, textures, feelings, as much as you can. Further, power it up with as many positive emotions as you can.
Do this, as it the Law states, and you’ll “attract” that “thing” from the “Universe.”
But, what the heck is “the Universe?”
Think of it this way. If you (or anybody else) were the ONLY PERSON on Earth, would the law of attraction still work?
If you tried to visualize a huge mansion with a bunch of cars parked outside, and a bunch of bikini girls waiting for you with cool glasses of lemonade, would it work?
Of course not. Since you’d be the ONLY person on Earth (in this particular mind experiment) there’s be nobody to build the cars, nobody to pick and squeeze the lemons, and certainly no bikini girls.
So when the Law of Attraction speaks of “The Universe,” it can ONLY mean one thing:
Other People!
And guess what, unless you are also imagining a world where everybody is psychic and can read your thoughts and decide to create what you want and give it to you, you’re going to have to get out there and INTERACT with other people.
Sure, meditating on your desires is a great step in the process, but it’s only a step. It’s NOT the whole process.
Just like the saying, “God helps those who helps themselves,” The Law of Attraction ONLY WORKS if you actively participate in the creation of your reality.
That means interacting with others. Talking to others. Finding out what’s important to them. Sharing what’s important to you.
