Introduction to Binaural Beats
Binaural means “two sounds.” The way they work is one frequency is played in one ear, and another frequency is played in the other ear. The brain “interprets the difference and that difference is what resonates with your brainwaves.
Gamma Binaural Beats
25 to 100 Hz
These are very high brainwaves, and are associated with higher thinking, deep insight and a quieting of the common inner chatter that causes problem in so many people. Listening to 40 Hz is commonly thought to create feelings of peace and an opening of the higher mind.
Beta Binaural Beats
12.5 to 30 Hz
These are associated with regular conscious thinking. Awake and alert.
Alpha Binaural Beats
8 to 12 Hz
These induce the brainwaves associated with daydreaming. Feelings of being relaxed, but not sleepy or drowsy. This is the common brainwave state associated with light meditation, inner focus, deep breathing, inner awareness.
Theta Binaural Beats
3 to 8 Hz
These brainwaves can induce drowsiness and sleep. It is the ideal time for programming, such as listening to any affirmations. The brain is the most relaxed and open. This is also the naturally occurring time when we drift asleep, that window when conscious thinking turns into dream thinking.
Delta Binaural Beats
0.1 to 4 Hz
These induce deep sleep, and shut off most thinking. Normally, we spend just a small fraction of our time in deep delta.
