Most everybody’s got plenty of hopes, dreams, and wishes.
Few of us have goals. Real goals.
Why? Because goals require a plan, as well as sacrifice.
We only have 24 hours a day, and we only have so many resources. Sadly, most of us don’t have much willpower when it comes to certain things.
For example, I’d love to have a six pack. In fact, since high school that has been a secret dream of mine.
But I’m still working on it.
Why?
I know what it takes to get there, I’m just not willing to put in the effort. I like eating, and running five miles a day, while enjoyable, isn’t high on my list of priorities on a daily basis.
This is the secret of goal setting that’s not often talked about.
Not only do you have to choose a specific goal with a specific outcome, but you’ve got to be willing to do anything to get there.
If you want to be a master persuader, then you’ve got to put in a lot of practice.
If you want to be a master seducer, you’ve got to put in a lot of practice, and face a lot of rejection.
If you want to get into ultra good shape, you’ve got to accept the idea of eating for pleasure as something in the past.
If you want to create enormous wealth, you’ve got do only those things that support. Relaxing in front of the TV, time wasting activities online, and spending money on frivolous things and activities has got to be in the past.
Since none of these come easy, most of us ain’t rich, ain’t super salespeople or master macks.
That doesn’t mean you can’t be any of these things. You can. There’s nothing stopping you from being whatever you want in life, and achieving anything you can imagine.
You’ve just gotta ask yourself:
“How far am I willing to go?”
And then get going.
