I just finished the latest book from Stephen King. It’s called “Doctor Sleep.”
So far it’s pretty good. It’s about this group of ageless vampires that roam the country in RV’s looking for people with special gifts. Kind of psychic gifts. Then they capture these poor folks, and torture them to death. (I know, not the greatest metaphor, lol).
As they do, they capture and feed off their “essence.” This essence gives them life for a certain amount of time. They call it “taking steam.”
Kind of like psychic vampires.
Got me thinking about game. Most guys, when they see a girl, think in black and white terms. You either get the number, and succeed, or you don’t, and you fail.
If you’re buddies see you go up and talk to her, as soon as you come back, they’ll ask if you got the number. If you didn’t, of if you didn’t ask, they’ll give you a hard time and bust your balls.
But there’s another option. As I’m sure you know, talking to cute girls and flirting with cute girls makes you feel REALLY good about yourself. It boosts your self confidence, self esteem, and puts a bounce in your step.
So next time you see a cute girl, don’t put so much pressure on yourself. You DON’T have to be an ultra alpha Don Juan and number close her. Just talk to her, flirt her, and “steal” some of her sexual energy.
Take steam, as it were.
Then when you ARE in a mood to get a number, it will be MUCH easier.
Think of it as getting in “pick up” shape. Getting in shape for sports requires that you work out an hour or so a day, doing various drills and conditioning exercises.
What if you looked at “taking steam” as getting in “pick up shape.” If you focused on just talking to and flirting with ONE cute girl per day, WITHOUT trying to get her number, you’d be in MUCH BETTER shape to get numbers when you wanted to.
A GREAT way to flirt is by using the patterns of objection handling. They can take pretty much any idea, and flip it around on it’s head.
Do this with the girls you’re talking to, and they’ll look at you in ways no girl ever has.
And unlike those psychotic evil bastards in King’s book, those girls will be DESPERATE for more when you cut short the conversation.
Giving you MUCH more confidence when it’s “game time.”
