No Particles Exist
There’s an idea from quantum physics that particles don’t really exist.
That particles are really a metaphorical description of tightly packed energetic vibrations.
And that any resistance or friction between two objects, like trying to push your hand through a wall, is due to the sum total of the electrostatic forces of all these tiny vibrations of atoms and the molecules they make up.
Long Cycles
There are a lot of investing theories that are based on long cycles.
The world, and the economic and monetary structures it contains are very, very cyclical.
The idea is that if you can study the various inputs to these cycles, and accurately predict critical turning points, you can make a lot of money.
Occasionally these turning points all happen at once.
For example, the sun has plenty of different cycles of different lengths.
When they all reach a minimum at the same time, the sun will have a minimum output of energy, which will, of course, impact the Earth and the climate, and the agriculture which depends on the sun’s energy.
Economic Cycles
These economic cycles are similar.
One of them is something called Kondratiev waves, which reach a minimum every 60 or 70 years.
Another is something called the Fourth Turning, which is based on generational archetypes.
These have 80 year cycles.
Another is a raw measurements of deaths due to global conflicts, per capita.
Similar Periods
This also seems to have cycles about every 60 to 80 years, meaning that every 60 to 80 years, there is a peak of deaths per capita due to global kinetic conflict.
The perfect storm, both the book and the movie, was about two large hurricanes that happened to overlap.
What is interesting is that nobody had any idea they were going to overlap until the last minute.
Which made it hard to predict, which made it hard to warn people.
Sucks To Be Them
By the time they overlapped, the people caught in this super storm didn’t have much of a chance.
The earth, and everything in it, is a closed system.
This means that everything that happens will eventually have an impact that is felt throughout the system.
Sometimes this takes a while, and the impact is barely perceptible, even if you are looking for it.
Don’t Neglect Chaos
On the other hand, you might get a chaos theory effect, where a butterfly flapping its wings will cause a hurricane somewhere a week later.
Even before humans came here, there have been five major extinction events.
When everything was in balance, and then things shifted out of balance, and then the next thing you know, 90% of species had died.
Kind of like Hemingway’s idea about going bankrupt.
First you go bankrupt slowly.
Then you go bankrupt all at once.
Too Many To Count
With such a large self-contained system with billions or even trillions of inter-dependent systems all flowing, there are bound to be catastrophic and unexpected events.
None of which can be predicted.
In Newport Beach, there is a beach called The Wedge.
The waves come in at about a 45 degree angle.
They come in, bounce off the jetty and then form wave interference patterns with the incoming waves that haven’t hit the jetty yet.
This means they peak twice as high, and crash twice as hard.
As this is a stable system, it can be predicted.
Perfect Chaos
But events described in The Perfect storm can seemingly come out of nowhere.
And if you aren’t prepared, and get caught in one of these super storms, death is fairly certain.
One trouble thing is that these three waves seem to be getting ready to reach a minimum at the same time.
The fourth turning, the Kondratiev waves, and even the conflict deaths per capita.
We’re Due
According to what they can tell, sometime between now and 2025, give or take, there will be a significant event of global proportions.
Since particles are really waves, it is theoretically possible to push your hand through a wall.
Due to the trillions of vibrating wave forms that make up the atoms in your hand, and the atoms in the wall, with enough tries, you’ll be able to slide it right through.
Out Of Phase
This would happen when all the atoms in your hand are out of phase with all the atoms in the wall.
Since everything is in cycles, eventually everything will be out of phase, or in phase.
And generally speaking, interesting things tend to happen at the extremes.
