Maximum Life
One of the most important transitions you can make in life is from childhood to adulthood.
This is something that was always difficult.
From a purely production-consumption standpoint, it makes perfect sense.
In an ancient tribal environment, the more non-productive humans they had, the less likely they’d survive.
If everybody sat around waiting for everybody else to get out and kill something, they’d all starve.
Children were net negative, from a production standpoint.
They consumed more than they produced.
What about old people, too old to hunt?
They were productive but from an educational point of view.
Life Coach
They were the storytellers, the ones with the most experience, who served as the elder consultants.
But kids were pure negative.
This was expected.
They were expected to “grow up” and be productive.
But this didn’t happen naturally.
The entire TRIBE had to help the along.
Ancient coming of age ceremonies, etc.
They had a kind of built in, push-pull motivational system.
They saw all the experienced hunters and get all kinds of love from the tribe.
Self Directed
They wanted to hurry up and grow up so they could be like them.
But at the same time, the tribe, mainly the elderly, were getting them ready, mentally.
The entire tribe would conspire to get them ready as quickly as possible so they could get out and hunt.
Because the sooner the children made the transition, the sooner everybody would get fed.
If you liked a girl, the only way to win her over was to get out there and show her what you were worth.
By how much you could produce.
Today life is much different.
Pretty much EVERYBODY with any kind of authority wants us helpless and dependent.
They don’t like people who are proactive, think for themselves, and plan their own lives.
That actually threatens their power, even if it’s only imaginary.
But there is one insidious way to keep ourselves stuck in the childhood mindset.
And that is holding on to past trauma.
Not My Fault
That crap that happened to us when we were kids.
Feeling like a victim is a very childhood-minded thing to think.
This presupposes there are others, more powerful than you, that hold power OVER you.
And unless THEY decide to make you whole, you are stuck in the childhood mindset.
The solution is clear.
Remove the hold those others have over you.
Cut the strings to the past, and set yourself free.
Embrace the adult mindset, and dominate.
