Lucrative Bread Crumbs
There is this very rich group of entrepreneurs that like leaving bread crumbs for self starting, independently minded individuals.
They create these long trails that require a lot of knowledge about secret codes, and cryptography and international travel.
They start off by leaving cryptic messages on various message boards.
To solve these long, international puzzles takes several months.
But at the end is very, very large pay off.
Hamburger Genius
I know these guys that started a hamburger shop right out of college.
They almost started it on a whim, not really knowing what they are doing.
I think one of their dads gave them a little bit of seed money, but not more than $10,000.
But this hamburger shop has been extremely profitable and extremely successful.
They aren’t interested in expanding or creating a chain, or even making their current location larger.
It’s always packed, and it’s not uncommon to find people eating outside on the sidewalk, or sitting on the curb.
Their menu is very, very simple, as are their ingredients and their recipes.
Hypnosis Hooligans
I know these guys that formed a group after one of the hypnosis seminars.
They meet every few months, usually in a hotel in a city in a central location.
And they also do these hypnosis based or linguistic based competitions.
One of them is based on an app that one of them created, partially to keep them from cheating, but also to make it much more interesting.
They’ll see somebody on the street, and take a picture of them with their phone.
Random Word Generator
And then app will generate a random word that is low on the English word frequency usage list.
The game is to try to get them to not only say the word, but smile when they say it.
It has to be totally organic, and they can’t try and guess what word the other person is trying to get them to say.
For example, if the word is mitochondria, they have to say that for their own reasons, not in response to a question, and they have to smile while saying it.
$500 Cake Shop
There’s this cake shop downtown, that is always busy, but unless you buy a cake, or go to a party where they have one of the cakes, you won’t understand this.
All the cakes look the same.
They are all single layer cakes and they all have white frosting.
The frosting is put on perfectly and smoothly, so they really like short white cylinders, about eight inches across and about three inches high.
But each cake cost $500.
But the cakes have some kind of white magic or witchcraft or some of non-normal characteristics.
The rules are very simple.
Twelve Hour Bliss
If you want to have the best party ever, you need to get one of these cakes.
Once somebody at your party takes a bite of this cake, they must not leave your house for at least 12 hours.
But once you take a bite, you’ll have a hallucination of the absolute best party ever.
You’ll suddenly see and taste the most delicious food you’ve ever tasted.
You’ll suddenly find yourself the best conversations you’ve ever had.
And if you’re into sex parties, you’ll find plenty of bedrooms with plenty of the most exciting sex partners you could potentially imagine.
You can even imagine all kinds of drugs if that’s your thing.
So long as you don’t leave the party for twelve hours, you’ll have the absolute best time of your life, without any negative repercussions.
Random Word Sentence Completion
Whoever can get the most words said while smiling wins the contest.
Often they’ll meet for a three or four day weekend, and compete every might from six to midnight.
One of the rules is once they get the person to say the strange word, they have to ask them to repeat it while they are filming.
So when they are finished, the can string together a sequence of different people saying low frequency words while smiling.
Cute Young and Bubbly
Most of the waitresses, or rather counter staff, are really pretty and usually young, either high school or college.
And the tip jar is always overflowing, and there is a long waiting list to even get interviewed to get hired there.
They only thing I can think of is they got really lucky.
They started off with the right idea in the right place in the right time, and were smart enough to not over think this.
To just keeping doing what was working, and enjoy their burger stardom for as long as it lasts.
Not Quite A Pot of Gold
