One of the presuppositions of NLP is that being more flexible is being better than being less flexible, all other things being equal.
More choice is better than less choice. If you’ve got two guys going after one goal, the guy who’s got more strategies to choose from will generally win.
A football team that’s got a whole range of plays (both offensive and defensive) will do a lot better than a team that’s ONLY got a running game.
Being able to develop a range of resources is crucial in pretty much any area of life. If you’re a pitcher, you’d better have something other than a fastball. If you’re selling things, you’d better be able to present the features and benefits of your products in a way that can be tailored to several different kinds of customers.
And if you’re talking to cute girls with an intention of getting more out of them than a conversation, you’d better have something other than a few memorized pick up lines.
Conversational flexibility is essential, and so is a flexible mindset.
One of the key elements of covert hypnosis, using the Milton Model is something called “Utilization.”
No matter what she says, whether it’s big huge doe eyes that are ready to rock, or the most hurtful dis she can come up with, if you can simply accept it at face value, and use it in your conversation, you’ll be much more successful.
Now, this attitude and mindset won’t happen over night. But if you are always asking yourself, “how can I use this,” whenever you’re out in the field (talking or observing), it WILL get stronger and stronger.
Guys who walk up to girls and get upset when they don’t respond the way they want them to tend to get blown out rather quickly.
But guys who walk up to girls and have a deep knowing that they can use anything she says, these guys tend to do much, much better.
This requires that you always take a long view, instead of a five minute view. If you’re only purpose in life is to get her number, and she doesn’t give it to you, you’re done.
But if your purpose is to talk to her, enjoy the conversation, and see her as only one element in your life, and your future, she’ll be much more attracted to you.
Because she’ll sense, on a deep level, that you aren’t needy, and you’re happy with her or without her.
Which will, paradoxically, make it much easier to close her. The less you try, the easier it is.
If you’ve got some serious things you’re creating in your life, this gets even easier. Most guys find that when they’ve got their eyes on a big, fat, glimmering prize that isn’t her, girls will usually qualify and close themselves.
