This has been a hot question since the beginning of time.
I’ve got an answer.
The meaning of life is to make as much money as you can.
Now, before you click off in disgust, hear me out.
See, there’s only a few ways to make money, and only one of them is legitimate.
You can steal it, find it, inherit it, or print it. None of these are legitimate business models.
The only real, honest way to make money is to sell something that somebody wants, either directly or indirectly. You can either make something on your own, and sell it. Or you can sell something that somebody else has made. Or you can help make something that somebody else will sell.
See, whenever there’s a financial transaction, both parties are better off. Unless the person buying the good wanted it MORE than the price, they wouldn’t have purchased it.
The seller, on the other hand, wanted the money MORE than the product.
Both parties are getting rid of something they wanted less than what they were getting.
Consequently, both parties (buyer and seller) are BETTER OFF than they were before.
Both parties have INCREASED their happiness, according to their own subjective standards.
So a desire to MAKE MONEY presupposes a desire to help people INCREASE HAPPINESS.
The more money you make, the more happiness and wealth (stuff) you’ve created.
Now, humans are programmed to ALWAYS want more stuff. How do we get that stuff? We buy it with money. How do we get that money? We create something (or help create something) and sell it (or help sell it) to people that want it.
In order to get what we want, we’ve FIRST got to give other people what they want.
So you see, in a society where everybody is as money hungry as they can be, they’re busily running around trying to figure out how to GIVE EACH OTHER what they need.
See, long time ago, we had nothing but rocks and clubs.
Now look at all the cool stuff we’ve got!
All because people throughout history wanted to get paid.
Now, get out there and make some money!
