When I was in college, my friends and I would often go body surfing.
When I was much younger, we’d go boogie boarding.
Both are fun, once you get it down.
Easier than surfing.
The first two require you have a kind of balance.
If you go too high up the wave, the wave will leave you behind.
Too far down, the wave will overtake you.
This pretty easy and almost subconscious.
Kind of like being on the swing.
You swing your legs, just right.
Enough to maintain an enjoyable ride.
You need to worry a about strength and frequency.
Right frequency, but too much power, and you’ll launch yourself up in the air.
Who’s That Weirdo?
Right strength, wrong frequency and you’ll look like an idiot.
Conversations are also like this.
Mostly natural, mostly not needing to think.
Kids do this naturally in kindergarten and then for the rest of their lives.
There’s always a few weirdos that say the wrong things at the wrong time.
Inappropriate things.
But for the most part, kids learn how to vibe.
They vibe just like swinging on a swing, and riding a wave.
Because vibing is fun.
This has got to be an evolutionarily beneficial trait.
We could imagine a tribe of weirdos going out hunting.
The Revenge Of The Nerds Tribe.
Not only do they need to vibe within themselves, they need to vibe with their prey.
Don’t Spook The Prey
Like a lion being very careful and stealthy as he gets closer and closer to his prey.
Being careful not to spook them.
Being careful to choose the easiest kill.
To maximize his lion ROI.
It’s hard to imagine a tribe of Revenge of The Nerds doing this to a wooly mammoth.
A tribe of ancient killers?
Absolutely.
Vibing with each other.
When meeting new people for important jobs or projects, we feel them out.
Resume’s don’t really tell us anything about their character.
But we can definitely feel people out.
This is actually more important, more variables etc.,than talking to cute people in social areas.
Why?
Because if you only vibe, like kids on a playground, or a swing, or a wave, that’s easy.
Ubiquitous Human Trait
EVERYBODY can vibe.
But what do you say to “make them” like you?
That’s the thing.
Attraction happens, or it doesn’t.
The highest probability of LETTING it happen is to give IT the chance to grow.
Just slide over, say hey and have a normal conversation.
Like you would with somebody sitting next to you on a plane.
Even BETTER is this non-outcome, natural human vibing ON ITS OWN will create plenty of attraction.
