I used to work at this place where we had these silly meetings once a week.
It was the kind of meeting where you don’t really need to get everybody together, as we never really discussed anything. We all just sat there and listened to the boss tell us the latest “news.”
Only most of the news was the same stuff week after week. It was pretty clear to most of us that the main reason she kept calling the meetings was so that she could remind us all that she was the boss.
The thing was, that other than these meetings, we all pretty much had the same job. She just had been there the longest, and she was the one that interfaced with “upper management,” when it came to receiving our work schedule.
Because our work schedule was not only posted but given to each of us individually, these meetings were pretty useless.
And I accidentally killed them, using a pattern from covert hypnosis. At the time, I didn’t really know what I was doing. I was just using the current situation to allow me to remember another situation that happened previously.
But the way I brought it up was enough to put a knife right in the heart of these pointless meetings.
The interesting thing was that nobody really knew exactly WHY these meetings stopped, not even the “boss.”
But when I realized what I’d done, I knew EXACTLY what happened.
See, when we were sitting around waiting for the meeting to start, I recounted a previous place I worked, where we also had meetings.
And at that previous place, there was one employee who always complained about the meetings, since they were pretty useless.
I just said something like, “I used to work at this place where we had these meetings, and my buddy would always complain about them, saying they were a waste of time.”
And that was that.
Of course, I was using the “quotes pattern” from NLP, or covert hypnosis. Incredibly powerful, and you can either use them to drop a covert “bomb” like I did, or suggest something much more positive.
Get people to stop doing something, as I inadvertently did, or get them to start doing something.
And they’ll never know what hit them.
