It All Adds Up
Your entire life is the sum total of what you do on a daily basis.
This is very hard to really accept.
Most everybody has a plan for their life.
But this “plan” is more of a wish.
And this wish either involves somebody else doing a lot of the work.
Or it involves something just “happening.”
Most people have a “who knows what’s going to happen in the future” kind of attitude about life.
This feels really good.
It would absolute suck to have ZERO belief that the future is going to be better than now.
In fact, it may be a very, very powerful instinct to believe, contrary to all evidence, that in the future, something FANTASTIC is going to happen.
The problem is that this belief NEEDS to be mixed with a certain kind of “agency.”
The idea that WE are going to somehow make it happen.
Be Somebody
This is the burning desire of youth.
Not to wait around for something to happen.
Not to wait around for some mysterious stranger to show up and tell us what’s what.
To DO SOMETHING magnificent.
To build something, create something, invent something, conquer something, achieve something.
What’s next is perhaps the HARSHEST truth about life on Earth.
And that is we live in a kind of Pareto Distribution DEATH match.
From a purely statistical, natural selection standpoint, consider this scenario.
Let’s say you’ve got about 50 guys of hunting age in any ancient tribe.
And each of those dudes has the MASSIVE ambition drive.
That burning desire to DO something magnificent.
To get the massive rewards.
Pareto Truth
Massive social validation (stone age fame) and all the love of the young ladies.
Here’s the very, very harsh and BRUTAL part.
Fifty dudes all have the same DESIRE.
But only a handful will actually ACHIEVE that desire.
Those top 20% of dudes will do the killing.
10 dudes about of fifty.
They will get the fame and the love.
And those dudes will be ENOUGH to bang all the ladies and create the next generation.
And the cycle repeats.
One of the biggest CONS of modern times is that life is FAIR.
Don’t Believe It
It is not.
We are ANIMALS just all the other animals who have to battle for life or death.
But that con is not just a con.
It is the most EVIL of cons.
Because the people perpetrating that con use that con as a MEANS to an end.
They convince everybody that life is fair.
All you have to do is show up, follow the rules, and you’ll have an awesome life.
That makes it much EASIER for those top dudes to KEEP all the money, and power, and wealth.
It is a CON meant to keep the riff raff passive.
Don’t believe it.
Leverage it.
Let the rest of the lazy goofs be passive and wait around for their “fair” payoff.
