Get Rid Of Uncertainty When Exchanging Language Gifts

When I was a kid I was always puzzled by my parents Christmas behavior.

This was after we’d given up all pretense of Santa, and all the presents were wrapped and under the tree.

What my parents did was to go out, buy presents for themselves, and then wrap them up. Only when they put the note on the card, they swapped.

Meaning my dad would buy a gift, wrap it up (or have the lady in the store wrap it up) and then give it to my mom, when she’d fill out the card. So it looked natural.

I suppose when you get enough presents that make you scratch your head in confusion, this makes a weird bit of sense.

While it can take out the suspense, it removes any potential disappointment.

You know EXACTLY what you’re getting. After a while, this can even add more excitement. It allows you to buy things for yourself that you wouldn’t otherwise buy.

Many people (most people) approach persuasion and influence like they approach traditional gift giving.

They try some kind of sales pitch, and sit back and wonder what they’re going to get in return.

Sometimes they’re pleasantly surprised, other times they scratch their heads in confusion.

You’ve got some intention of what you want (kind of like a kid hoping to get a bicycle) and then they try some kind of technique, and hope it works.

Only most of the time, what happens is you get something completely unexpected (like some ugly ass sweater from grandma, lol).

Often times, communication can be like the random gift exchange at Christmas time. You give something you hope the other person will like (but you aren’t really sure), and you keep your fingers crossed hoping you’ll get something nice in return (but you don’t hold your breath).

With the patterns in covert and conversational hypnosis, this will NEVER happen again.

Not only will you be able to covertly elicit the specific criteria of your listener or reader, so you’ll know EXACTLY what they want, but you’ll be able to present your ideas and suggestions so they see it’s a no-brainer.

They’ll see that giving you what you want is the best way to get what they want.

Kind of like wrapping up a gift and giving it to themselves, from you.

But because it’s “covert” you’ll be the only one who knows what’s REALLY going on.
