Magnetic Love
Why does having such a strong frame make you irresistible?
Not just to the ladies, but to pretty much everybody.
First of all, most people are not leaders.
Most people need somebody in charge.
Most people need to be safely within a group.
This isn’t bad or wrong by any means.
This distribution was absolutely critical for human evolution.
One clear headed guy in charge, and the rest of the folks.
This is critical in all organizations.
We are deeply hierarchical people.
Very, very few people are willing to take charge.
Particularly of a situation where the outcome is both uncertain and consequential.
Too Many Options
Most people, even when watching TV, can’t decisively choose a movie or show.
“I dunno, what do you wanna watch?”
This is the same kind of lack of leadership that dooms relationships.
“I dunno, what do you wanna do?”
EVERYBODY has been there.
Consider that this is one of the reasons cult leaders can get away with so much insanity.
There two aspects to every communication.
Every opinion, every idea, every suggestion.
The content, the thing the idea is about.
The stuff that can be written down on paper.
Then there is the frame.
The WAY the idea is presented.
Frame Magnet
The next part isn’t such a nice thing to say about us humans, but here we go:
We are much more attracted to BAD IDEAS delivered within a strong frame than really good ideas presented within a weak frame.
And there are PLENTY of things that make up a strong vs. weak frame.
Consider this, really strange, idea.
Remember being back in elementary school.
Remember when your teacher first explained plate tectonics.
The idea that all the land masses were once joined together, and slowly drifted apart.
If you were like most kids, you accepted this.
It made perfect sense.
Yet at the same time, the guy who actually came up with this idea was RIDICULED.
At the time, people thought this was the dumbest idea ever.
This happens EVERY TIME there is a new, relatively ground breaking scientific idea.
Frame Conquers All
What’s the difference?
Consider that it’s based on relative frame strength.
You’ve got a bunch of scientists who have spent their entire CAREERS staking out their “scientific territory.”
Then some unknown guy comes along with a completely NEW idea.
What about the classroom setting?
Young kids have very weak frames.
Teachers (at least back in those days) were AUTOMATICALLY recognized authorities.
The SAME IDEA between strong framed scientists caused massive upheaval.
But from teacher to students?
“Sure, sounds legit!”
This is how YOUR ideas will be accepted by others, so long as you deliver them through a RELATIVELY strong frame.
And judging by how weak people’s frames are these days, you can absolutely dominate.
