One of the hardest things to predict is human behavior.
Even people that you’ve known for a long, long time will sometimes do crazy and unexpected things.
I once had this professor in college that was really, I’m not sure how to describe it, energizing.
Meaning that after his classes, I would always feel pumped up. Like I had just learned some inside secrets about human life.
The class was an introduction to philosophy, and before I took the class, I really didn’t know what it was.
But some of the stuff he talked about, was amazing. Uncovering the real reasons beneath human behavior, using historical and fictional characters as a guide, was truly mind boggling.
Now, this guy wasn’t always a philosophy teacher. He used to be a doctor. But something inside of him told him he wasn’t doing what his true calling was.
Sure, he was helping people, but not in the way that made him feel as if he was really “connecting.”
Something pretty cool happens when you connect with somebody on a deep level.
Not just the superficial level of exchange, like trading your time for their time, or your money for their product, but a real, deep connection that is becoming more and more rare these days.
Of course, the secret is that everybody is dying to meet somebody who can see them for who they really are.
And when you understand the fundamental triggers of human behavior, and realize that we are all a lot more similar than we are different, it’s easier than most people imagine.
Just after meeting somebody, they’ll feel as if you know them like few others have ever known them.
But you’ll know the secret.
That the same heart, as they say, beats in every chest.
Meaning that making those incredibly deep connections will seem second nature to you.
Whether you’re creating business relationships, romantic relationships, or just enhancing the relationships you’re already involved in.
