The Pareto Principle, and plenty of examples, are everywhere.
Pareto was an Italian economist back in the late 1800’s.
The idea is simple.
In any system, 20% of the system does 80% of the work.
20 percent of NBA players score 80 percent of the points.
20 percent of novelists sell 80 percent of books.
Plenty of studies have been done to show that 20 percent of people in Tinder get 80% of the attention.
These “Pareto Distributions” are everywhere.
They exist in mammals as well.
Nearly all social animals have a pecking order.
The dudes at the top do the decision making and get the benefits.
Yet, at the same time, most people very much LOVE the idea that there is no such thing.
We HATE the idea that we, ourselves, are ALWAYS organized within some kind of Pareto distribution.
But we do.
Tested – Verified
Psychology studies bear this out.
They put ten people in a group, and throw a problem at them.
Imagine giving each person “knowledge points” of how they might solve the problem.
And then add up all the “knowledge points” in this group.
Chances are, 20 percent of the people (the top two in this case) would have 80 of the knowledge points.
Companies are organized into hierarchies.
Governments are organized into hierarchies.
Households are organized into hierarchies.
Non profit organizations are organized into hierarchies.
Even groups of friends have a kind of hierarchy to them.
The harsh truth is very clear.
The higher up you are in ANY Pareto distribution, the better your life will be.
You might say your purpose in life is to find a the RIGHT Pareto distribution where you’ll have an EASY TIME rising to the top.
One that gets as many of your needs met as possible.
Money, sex, health, etc.

Since most people have NO IDEA that these hierarchies are everywhere, nobody knows how or why the people that get to the top actually get to the top.
Most people operate mostly unconsciously most of the time.
Some lucky few just happen to be in a place and time where their “natural” behavior allows them to rise to the top of whatever hierarchy they are in.
But we clever humans can reverse engineer pretty much anything.
YOU can reverse engineer pretty much anything.
So you can see hierarchies when others don’t.
So you can tell who is on top and who is only pretending.
And you can find golden opportunities to BE the one on top.
Or, if you are feeling bold enough, you can BUILD your own hierarchy.
With you on top and whoever else you want all the way down.
