Caveman Control
One description of being “civilized” is being able to control, or manage, your baser instincts.
One instincts tell us to eat as much as we can, whenever we can.
This makes sense for those folks way back in the day.
In those days, we were like a family on a road trip.
Without GPS and only a basic map.
We never knew WHEN we’d see a gas station.
So whenever we DID, it made perfect, rational sense to stop and fill up the tank.
From a hunger standpoint, this comes across as eating as much as we can, whenever we can.
Since we never know when we’re going to have an opportunity.
Better Fill Up
Of course, today, if you want to follow that same strategy, you’ll end up in trouble.
So most everybody recognizes the need to manage their hunger instinct.
And this next idea isn’t so popular, but here we go.
The BETTER you can manage your hunger instinct, the BETTER your body will look.
Those who only do a so-so job of managing their hunger instinct have so-so bodies.
Those who have a very strong and deliberate ability to manage their hunger instinct have much better looking bodies.
Better of course is subjective, but when it comes to us subjective humans, we tend to agree on what looks good and what doesn’t look good.
The EASIEST way to do this is to counter balance your hunger instinct with a longer game instinct.
Like sex or social status or love.
Only Possibilities
This DOES NOT MEAN that if you get a better body you are guaranteed any of things.
This is only a MENTAL TRICK to help.
If you truly believe you have a better chance of love, or status, or sex with your better body, those long game desires will OUT FRAME your short game desires.
But hunger is ONLY one instinct.
And it is a physical instinct.
And it is very easy to see who can manage their hunger and who can’t.
Most of our instincts are mental.
But blind obedience to these mental instincts will mess us up just as much as blind obedience to hunger.
It’s just that nobody can see any evidence.
So we can PRETEND there aren’t any consequences.
But they are there.
You know they are there.
How do you manage your mental instincts, so you can not only avoid those consequences, but dominate very easily?
Goose and Gander
The same way you manage your hunger instinct.
First, come up with a long term benefit to managing all your mental instincts.
Better income, better status, better respect, or a generally better life.
Then, start to build your mental strength.
To CHOOSE what to think.
To CHOOSE what to focus on.
Modern brains are kind of like stereotypically modern people who eat EVERYTHING they see.
They’re walking down the street and then they see a donut shop.
BOOM!
Donut eating party.
Scatter Brain
Most people’s brains are similarly being yanked all over the place.
Control your mind, control your life.
Strengthen your mind, improve your life.
