If you want to increase your skills, enhance your beliefs, or improve at pretty much anything in life, then positive affirmations can help.
However, the best positive affirmations are ones that you create yourself. Some of the popular ones you see online can help, but unless they target your own needs specifically, they can only do so much.
In this article we’ll go through the step by step procedure so you can create some laser targeted positive affirmation so you can quickly and easily boost yours skills, kill your fears, and get exactly what you want out of life.
However, be forewarned, while your own personally chosen positive affirmations will be incredibly powerful and life transforming, they can be a bit emotionally uncomfortable to create. But once you get through the creation phase, then you’ll literally be on easy street.
Positive Affirmations – Step One
The first thing you’ll need to do is think of something you want, but can’t quite seem to get. This can be a skill, a behavior you’d like to comfortable do, or a specific thing.
For the sake of illustration, we’ll use money. We want more money, but for some reason we can’t get it. The first step is to find our limiting beliefs about money.
So write down, at the top of a document or physical piece of paper:
I can’t get more money because…
This is called a “sentence stem,” and is designed to uncover the unconscious beliefs.
The trick is to write as many things as you can, as fast as you can, even if they don’t make sense.
Our limiting beliefs are very good at hiding, and our ego does a good job of keeping them hid from us, in order to protect us.
But we don’t want to be protected, we want more money!
So keep writing until you get to some beliefs that sound like the real culprits.
You’ll know you’ll have gotten to some paydirt when the things you write make you feel horrible. Like a deep dark secret that you hope nobody every finds out about.
Something like these:
I can’t get more money because…
…I’m not smart enough
…I’m not experienced enough
…I’m too ugly
…I’m too fat
Remember, they don’t need to make logical sense, only emotional sense. And they have to feel true.
Once you’ve got them, all you’ve got to do is flip them around so they are the grammatical opposite, AND they contain the make money part.
For example:
…I’m not smart enough
becomes
I’m smart enough to make more money!
…I’m not experienced enough
becomes
I’m got enough experience to make more money.
…I’m too ugly
becomes
I’m good looking enough to make more money.
Positive Affirmations – How To Do
The very best time to repeat positive affirmations is when you are relaxed, sleepy and drowsy.
The transition between the awake mind and the asleep mind is the best possible and most effective brainwave state for reprogramming.
Positive Affirmations – Going Forward
Spend some time coming up with five or ten positive affirmations. The more specific they are, and the shorter they are, the better.
For example, “I’m smart enough to make more money,” is MUCH better than, “I am a highly intelligent being and I now open myself up to the universe and all the abundance within.”
The first one is very easy for your subconscious to understand and implement.
The second one may sound good to your conscious mind, but your subconscious will likely reject it because it’s very vague and non-specific.
Just come up with five or ten short, powerful, positive affirmations and repeat them to yourself as you fall asleep at, and watch your life transform into something fantastic!
