I have this friend that teaches kindergarten, and she’s telling me all the cool games they play.
One of them is called “Mr. Robot” or “Mrs. Robot” depending.
Basically, all the kids get on one side of the room, and one kid gets to be the robot.
The kids shout out simple commands, “stop, go backward, go forward, turn right, turn left,” it doesn’t take very long for the kids to get each other crashing into walls or the teacher’s desk.
I suppose as a five year old, telling your friends to walk into wall, and then watch them do it as they melodramatically go down in flames, is pretty fun.
Unfortunately, many of us live our lives that way, only we don’t know it.
We turn right, turn left, and often times go backwards without even realizing it, and without even realizing that we are constantly being played.
Being played by our fears, by society at large, by advertisers, politicians, even those who supposedly “want the best for us.”
Only that whenever somebody tells you they “want the best for you,” is usually based on THEIR definitions, not yours.
Which is taking control of your life is the only escape from our unconsciously played out “robot game.”
How can you escape? First, choose what you want in your life. Then go out and make it happen.
Will you make mistakes? Of course!
Will it happen overnight? Of course not!
Will it happen automatically? Of course not!
Will it even be easy? Of course not!
But what WILL happen is you’ll experience something few people EVER do.
Ownership.
You’ll be able to look at your life, look at your surroundings, and say to yourself:
“I did this.”
Dream big. Dream huge. Take those dreams and turn them into plans. Take those plans and turn them into steps.
Daily steps to your inevitable success.
There’s a WONDERFUL life out there, just waiting for you.
Take it. It’s YOURS.
