I recently read about this incredible metaphor regarding the difference in sizes between the unconscious and conscious brains.
For all intents and purposes of this post, unconscious mind, subconscious mind and “other than conscious” mind all pretty much refer to anything going on in our mind body system (like your heartbeat, those memories of when you were a kid and you dropped your ice cream, or that bug that flew into your mouth not too long ago) are all the same.
Subconscious Mind Power
Imagine that you’re sitting in a dark theater. One of those big ones, with a huge screen.
The screen is dark, and somebody’s got one of those laser pointers, so all you see is a tiny red dot.
The size of the red dot is about how big our conscious minds are. The rest of the screen is our subconscious, or unconscious.
This is really a matter of economics more than anything else. If we had to keep all the information we knew, all the sensations we were feeling, and all the possible outcomes for what we were doing in our conscious brains, we’d be a blabbering mess, unable to even move.
So nature kind of helped us out by putting the majority of our thoughts, memories, etc. on auto-pilot.
Most of the time, this helps us, but sometimes it can get us into trouble.
For example, if you had your heart broken in Junior High School by a girl with red hair, as an adult, every time you see a girl with red hair, your subconscious is going to flash a subtle warning signal.
This will come across as feelings of unease, anxiety, and maybe a twisted knot in your stomach.
However, knowing this fact about human behavior can give you an incredible advantage.
With a set of language patterns, designed to speak directly to people’s unconscious minds instead of their conscious minds, you can have a tremendous effect.
The difference would be trying to light up that movie screen with a laser pointer, versus a state of the art projector.
One requires conscious focus, while the other allows you to sit back and enjoy the ride.
Now there’s been lots of stuff written on self programming, like The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind,
When you speak to people using these specific language patterns, they’ll just be able to sit back, and enjoy the ride.
Giving you much more charisma, magnetism and persuasive ability, if that’s what you want.
Getting your ideas across will be easier than ever. Moving people’s emotions away from stress and anxiety and toward wonderful feelings of pleasure will become second nature.
Since most of us only speak through and to the conscious mind, most of us are extremely limited in what we can do through language alone.
But with these language patterns, specifically designed to address the incredible resourceful unconscious, there’s not much you can’t do with just your words.
