There’s a secret of human behavior that most people don’t want to know about, and will generally disbelieve when they are told.
But this “secret,” has not only been known about for centuries, as taught by spiritual leaders, gurus and mind development experts, but also that cognitive scientists are starting to discover hard proof of this “secret.”
So what is this secret? That humans are irrational. All of our decisions are based on emotions, not logic. Yes, we are starting to slowly evolve into logically thinking creatures, like Spock, but that’s a long, long way off.
Why do people resist this idea? Because we’re much closer to the animal kingdom than to the “enlightened spiritual being” kingdom than we’d like to believe.
We’re driven by instincts, irrational thinking, fear, greed, ego, pride, and many other triggers that are based on our previous lifestyle.
See, humans lived as hunter gathers for hundreds of thousands of years.
We’ve only been living in organized societies for a few thousand. And only a hundred or so in societies where everybody could read and write.
We’re still very susceptible to those instinctive triggers that helped us survive in the wild, when there was no police, no government, no hospitals, and food that kept running away from us.
That’s good news, and bad news.
Good news if you’re an advertiser or a politician. Because once you know what these triggers, people, especially large groups, are incredibly easy to manipulate.
Just look at some the fads in the past few years. None of them make any rational sense.
Bad news if you’re on the receiving end. Meaning that unless you know what these triggers are, you are incredibly open to manipulation.
If you’ve ever bought something, got it home, and then wondered why the heck you bought it, you know what I’m talking about.
But by understanding these triggers, so you can not only defend yourself, but truly understand human behavior, you’ll have a HUGE advantage.
Not only over your own brain, but the brains of others.
Just be sure not to abuse these. Because you can. With deadly results.
