When you are putting in daily effort to go after a worth goal, that’s when you feel most alive.
Paradoxically, we tell ourselves that we’re working so hard so that we can “rest” in the future.
But pretty soon you get bored. The thrill of the hunt is what keeps us going. Keeps us motivated.
Naturally, if you’re spending all your time and effort following orders to achieve somebody else’s goal, it can be frustrating. Working your behind off while somebody else gets all the credit isn’t fun for anybody.
But so long as you have dreams, visions, and long range goals, you’ll be OK.
If you don’t have some, then consider getting some. What would you like to have five years from now? Think big. If you knew you couldn’t fail, and it would still take plenty of work, what would you like to create?
Now, are you guaranteed success? Absolutely not. But if you do nothing, you are certainly guaranteed failure.
But you won’t likely call it “failure.” Some call it “safety” or “being conservative,” but I think you know what I’m talking about.
Now, I’m not advocating quitting your day job. You DO gotta pay the rent, and put food on the table.
But that doesn’t mean you can’t have big dreams. The longer you dream them, the more opportunities you’ll find to make them come true.
That, after all, is what being human is all about.
