What exactly is your subconscious mind power? Imagine a gigantic I-max screen. The lights are down, and the movie is about to start. The screen is completely black. Then somebody shines one of those laser pointers at the screen. Set aside your annoyance for the being, and imagine what that would look like.
A huge, black, dark, screen, and a tiny pinpoint of laser light in the middle. How many laser pointers do you think it would take to fill the entire screen with red? How big of an audience would that take?
The size difference between the size of the screen, and the size of the small red dot is about the same as the size difference between your subconscious mind power and your conscious mind. I think you can guess which is which.
Your subconscious mind power is responsible for all that happens to you.
Your subconscious mind power is responsible for all your memories.
Your subconscious mind power is responsible for all your fears, dreams, hopes, and desires.
And it is your ticket to unlimited riches and success in any area of life you choose.
How To Tap The Subconscious
Much has been written about the untapped energy and potential that lies dormant in your subconscious mind power. Many treat it as an esoteric, metaphysical concept cloaked in ancient laws and bafflingly revealed “Secrets” that claim to teach you the hidden techniques to unlock your subconscious mind power.
There is nothing mysterious about your other than conscious mind. It is a completely normal, efficiently functioning part of your brain that was designed (by God, Mother Nature, Evolution, Aliens) to support your existence.
So why the split between conscious and unconscious?
Do you remember that time when you were sixteen years old, and that event that was nerve wracking?
Do you remember when you last stubbed your toe, and you cried out in pain?
What is the current feeling in your left leg now, as you read this?
What are the particular sounds in the room you are in right now?
What is the feeling as you feel your weight pushing down into your chair?
The simple reason for the existence of a subconscious conscious mind split is one of simple economics.
The brain is being hit by several million bits of information per second. The conscious mind, your thinking, aware part, can only handle less than a hundred bits per second.
Imagine, now, if you had to keep conscious track of all your memories, all the events that were happening around you at all times, and all of your bodily sensations and functions, including the beating of your heart, and the breathing of your lungs.
It’s no wonder our unconscious mind is vastly superior in data handling capacity than our conscious minds.
How Exactly Can We Maximize Our Subconscious?
It’s pretty straightforward. You don’t need magic snake oil or ancient metaphysical pixie dust. You do need to develop some skills, that most people simply do not have naturally. But all it takes is practice. And the rewards are enormous. So, what are these skills?
Congruence
Sometimes we have a goal, or a plan, but it doesn’t come to pass. Why?
It is only a halfhearted plan. A weak attempt. They are more like really strong wishes that goals, or choices.
In order to maximize the power of your deep mind, you’ve got to turn your wishes into strong choices. Choices fueled with expectation to make them as real as choosing what to watch on TV or what to eat for dinner.
How exactly does that work?
I’m sure you’ve heard of the “Red Car Phenomenon.” In case you haven’t, it goes like this. You go out shopping for a car, and you settle on nice red sports car. You buy it because it’s unique, and you can’t recall seeing to many others like it.
Except next time you get on the freeway, all you are red cars, just like the one you’ve bought.
Here’s what’s going on. Before you bought the red car, it wasn’t important. So your subconscious mind power was automatically filtering it out from your conscious. With your conscious mind only to handle a hundred bits per second or so, your subconscious mind power can’t afford to waste brain bandwidth with useless information.
But as soon as you bought a red car, everything changed. Buying a car is no small decision. Since you’ve agreed to pay the many thousands of dollars to pay for the car, your subconscious suddenly got the message that red cars are very important.
Now, when you travel through the massive reality that is life, your subconscious mind power is now picking out all of those red cars and presenting them to your conscious. Only to you, it seems like they are there for the first time.
The secret to achieving your goals is to convince your subconscious that they are important. As important as buying a car.
How do you do this?
Repetition, visualization, and strong emotions.
Repetition
Repetition simply means to imagine your goals every morning when you wake up, and every night before you fall asleep.
Strong Visualizations
Strong visualizations simply mean to imagine your goal as strongly as possible. This is why simply stating affirmations rarely work. You need to create as realistic a picture as possible of your goal, as it will look like when it is achieved. Consider these questions:
What will you see when your goal is achieved? What evidence, or proof, will you see that your goal is achieved? Proof that could ONLY mean that your goal has come to pass?
What will you hear? What will people be saying to you?
What will you feel? What tactile sensations will you be experiencing? Will you be comfortably slipping into a pair of clothes? Will you be holding something in your hands of considerable value? Fell the weight. Feel the texture.
The more details you can incorporate into your visualization, the better.
Emotions
The more you get your feelings involved, the better. Whenever you visualize your goals, infuse them with strong emotions. What kind of emotions?
Think back to the red car example. What kind of emotions to you think you’d be feeling when buying a brand new red car? Excitement, joy, happiness, appreciation, gratitude. A feeling of “Holy crap this is sooo cool!”
That’s the feeling you want to practice when you imagine your goals coming true. Appreciation for having them. Not wishing they would come true, but pure raw gratitude that they already have come true.
Yes, it takes time to feel gratitude for something that hasn’t come true yet. But just like with any other thing, the more you practice, the more natural it will become.
One of the reasons it helps to do this as you fall asleep is that when you are near sleep, your brainwaves are slower. Slower brain waves means less interference from your “conscious critic,” that part of you that argues with you when you say that you have something that you don’t. Slower brain waves mean stronger and more real visualizations.
The point at which you cross from Alpha waves down into Theta waves is when your mind drifts into la-la land as you fall asleep.
By relaxing, becoming quiet, and drifting into the state of alpha, that sleepy relaxed state before sleep comes, the visualizations will become much more real.
There’s a reason people can eat lemons and imagine they are hamburgers while under hypnosis. Hypnosis is a state of deep alpha or high theta, where the imagination runs supreme. Despite the physical sourness of the lemons hitting the taste buds, it is overridden by the subconscious as it is guided to as state of extreme visualization and imagination.
You can do the same with your goals. Create powerful visualizations, and practicing them repeatedly while under a sleepy relaxed state, and feeling strong emotions of gratitude and appreciation as if they are already true.
You will convince your subconscious mind that they are real and important, just as the red car was real and important in the example above.
And when that happens, you will notice a shift in the information that your subconscious presents to your conscious mind. The world will seem new, and you will see things, feel things, and imagine things that are all congruent with your goals being true.
And when you properly tap into you unlimited subconscious mind power, achieving anything you desire will be automatic.
