The idea is unless any species of primates evolve sufficiently, they’ll be kept in a localized space with limiting laws of physics.
For example, relativity may be an artificial set of constraints.
As it stand now, going even a fraction of the speed of light is far beyond our energy capabilities.
Since the closest planet with possible life is 4 to 12 light years away, that would require an enormous amount of planning and technical advances far beyond what we are capable of.
Maybe Future Unlocked
It’s believed that if we ever do evolve beyond our current limitations, the laws of physics would be unlocked to allow for worm hole travel and teleportation through both space and time.
But that’s at least a few thousand years away according to the latest research.
For now, the aliens will continue to take random samples to maintain statistical purity.
