Cake Judge
Imagine being a taste judge in a cake contest.
You got picked at random or something.
And you show up, and all the cakes look the same.
Round, two layers, no frosting, no decorations.
And the cakes are, more or less, made the same way.
Every cake’s taste is a little different.
Cakes are kind of like what they say in Japan about Japanese food.
Meant to be enjoyed twice.
Once when you look at it and enjoy it.
Two when you eat it.
A cake isn’t just a sweet food.
It’s usually for special occasions.
That’s why most cakes are for many people.
Big Cake Please
Not single servings.
Some event where everybody gathers around for some special occasion.
So a cake without frosting doesn’t really fit.
Sure, they’re still good, but it’s lacking something.
Many movies today are like that weird cake contest.
They are all kind of missing something.
Sure, the CGI is good.
The acting is usually pretty good.
Directing, soundtrack etc., is pretty good.
Some are shot in stunning locations that is nice on the eyes.
Eye Candy
But most modern movies are kind of missing something.
Real, genuine character arcs.
Struggle, doubt, facing demons, etc.
But if you seek, you will find.
But since indie movies (where you can find some genuine characters) don’t have big budgets, you must go looking for them.
A similar thing is going on in the dating market.
Everybody is competing with each other kind of like blockbuster movies.
Lots of superficial things, but not a lot of substance.
And very much like indie movies, once you find something with REAL substance, it is much, much more preferable to the flashing superficial stuff.
The Missing Piece
This means if YOU develop that missing ingredient, that ONE THING will be much, much more compelling.
Think of this in terms of a cake.
Now, a cake IS based on superficial things.
How it looks.
How it looks as a function of the REASON for eating the cake.
Somebody’s birthday, or retirement, or graduation, etc.
The way the cake LOOKS is the most important thing.
So long as it tastes OK.
But with dating and romance, it’s the OPPOSITE.
Substance IS the most important thing.
Not looks.
But because it is lacking today, nobody realizes its important.

Or more importantly, who HAS this substance so you can copy it?
Cult leaders.
Wait, what?
Not the suicide-murder part.
But the part of them that makes people DRAWN to them like moths to a flame.
When they need to simply walk into a room and people NOTICE.

Something about them is so charismatic, people voluntarily turn off their brain.
