Bell Curve Experiment
I saw this cool experiment a couple days ago.
Not really an experiment, more like a demonstration.
A demonstration of a math teacher to his elementary school students.
About probability and the Gaussian distribution.
He had all the students stand in one line in the gym and face the same direction, perpendicular to the line.
Start Flipping, Kids
They each had a coin, and were going to toss it twenty times.
If it was heads, they’d take a step forward.
If it was tails, they’d take a step back.
They’ve found life forming in these very deep, recently discovered caves.
The conditions are extremely harsh, yet live has not only formed, but thrived in such harsh conditions.
Monkeys and Oranges
An interesting example of co-evolution is primates and fruit.
The fruit trees create the brightly colored fruit with the delicious insides.
The primates eat the brightly colored fruit, swallow the seeds and then spread them via their leavings.
Bees and Flowers
This works more or less the same as bees and flowers.
Bees get sweet stuff and help to pollinate the flowers.
Primates eat fruit, get the sweet stuff and help propagate the fruit trees.
Over time, as primates evolved, we learned to purposely create juicier and sweeter fruit.
Each fruit tree has fruit that is bound by the laws of probability.
Driven Evolution
So if we plant the juiciest and sweetest fruit, each successive iteration will increase juiciness and sweetness by at least one standard deviation.
There is a particularly troubling theory about guided evolution.
Guided evolution is what we humans have been doing since we figured out how.
Carefully using artificial selection, compared to natural selection, to purposely alter other species for our benefit.
Domesticated animals, sweeter fruit, more robustly parasite resistant crops.
GMO Disaster
But once we cross over in the GMO territory, we’re doing this on a genetic level.
As they’ve started to research more and more how we can modify plants and even animals at the genetic level, they’ve discovered that once any species is genetically modified, it’s leaves unavoidable signatures on the species’ DNA.
And they’ve found this very same genetic signature in our DNA.
But this genetic signature is at least a million years old.
Which strongly suggests that humans have been the product of assisted evolution at the genetic level.
Ancient Interventions
And this happened over a million years ago.
The reasons for this are terrifying.
We only modify other plants and animals for our benefit.
Nearly always for food purposes.
Which suggests that we humans have been modified, specifically for consumption.
Only Sporadic Abductions
But since there is not a lot of direct evidence of large scale alien involvement, this suggests we aren’t quite there yet.
And since there is evidence of small scale alien involvement, we are still being tested.
This would support the idea that alien abductions are really for the purposes of taking random samples, to see how we are progressing.
One theory suggests that since growing things like protein and fat are fairly easy, particularly for an advanced alien species, that the thing they are interested in the most is our brains.
Your Brain Looks Delicious
That we are being specifically evolved to create large enough brains to serve as food for alien elites.
That the elites of alien species will soon be eating our brains like they we eat caviar.
Some even postulate that the entire reason for life on Earth is to be an alien caviar farm.
If you were to go back in time, you’d find that fruits and vegetables are much, much different than they are today.
Medicine and Food
Which means that the Hippocratic suggestion to let medicine be thy food, and food be thy medicine might not hold true.
As fruits and vegetables back then likely had a lot more nutritional value than the mass produced sugar bombs being grown today.
Some say that life is like physics.
They have a saying in physics that whatever is possible is mandatory.
Absolutely Mandatory
Meaning the laws of physics are not optional.
And if life behaves the same way, then whenever life can form and evolve, it will.
This explains why they always find life in the strangest places, like seemingly uninhabitable caves.
After all the coin tosses, he had the students stay where they were, and turn to face the front.
Line Up Historgrammically
Then they would walk forward, essentially creating a histogram.
As you’d expect, the majority of students had a net difference in tosses of plus or minus one.
Next were the ones with a net, heads minus tails difference of one or minus two, etc.
The histogram they created was a perfect Gaussian distribution.
Gauss is generally considered to be one of the most super genius mathematicians who ever lived.
