One of the most important transitions one can make in life is from being a child to being an adult.
From a purely instinctive, ancient hunter gatherer standpoint, children are expected to consume more then they produce.
They are expected to require others to help solve most of their problems.
Adults are expected to produce more than they consume, and generally be the problem solvers of a tribe.

DNA is a very cool molecule that is both incredibly simple in concept, but insanely complex in design.
The basic concept is easy to understand.
In each our cells lives our DNA.
Whenever your body decides it needs to build more body parts, or parts of body parts, the DNA inside of those particular cells will get to work.

This super long, double helix will unwind in just the right spot, and decouple.
The open strands will attract mirror image pieces that link up together in a chain.
This mirror image piece is RNA, and essentially becomes an assembly line.
Amino acids link up together on this RNA assembly line and build the proteins for whatever body part you need.
A common metaphor for DNA is that it’s a blueprint, but this is incorrect.
A more accurate metaphor for DNA is that it’s more of humongous recipe book that contains all the specific recipes to build all the parts of you.
Your Brain
Including your brain that is being used right now to listen to and understand these words.
Inside your DNA is the recipe for your brain, your personality and, according to some physiologists, the ideal diet you should eat for optimal help.
Many fantasy stories have the metaphor of a lock and a key.
Sometimes a character has the key, and must find a lock.
Sometimes they a lock and need to find a key.
Hidden Treasure
But central to the lock and key metaphor is the treasure that the lock is protecting.

Perhaps from some ultra intelligent entity that is far beyond human understanding.
Find A Wife
In the book of Genesis, it says a man will leave his family and cleave to his wife.
This suggests that adult single humans are not supposed to be single for very long.
That when we are children, we are utterly dependent on others for our survival.
But as soon as we are capable, we are responsible for using our productive talents to provide for others, in the form of creating our own family.
Planet Train Wreck
When this model breaks down, the end of society is not far behind.
When adult humans are still operating from the childhood model, and still expect their needs to be provided for by others, the end of society is not far behind.
When modern incentives create the opposite of what our ancient programming requires become the norm, the end of society is not far behind.
