Ice Volcano
There are these cool structures called ice volcanoes.
They form where it’s cold enough for the ice to from on beaches.
Eventually the waves will come into the beach under the large sheet of ice.
If the ice sheet is big enough, it will create enough pressure for the water to break through the weakest points in the ice.
Increasing Complexity
Simple systems can lead to more complex emergent systems, so long as energy keeps flowing into the system.
And so long as their is plenty of energy, complex systems can form more complex emergent systems.
Of course, once these higher level, complex systems are formed, they are utterly dependent on continuous flows of energy.
Organizational Battle
One of the ultimate battles that has happened in pretty every society since the invention of agriculture is who determines where goods flow and where money flows.
On one side of the spectrum, you’ve got individuals who take it upon themselves what to create and exchange with one another, even determining the means of exchange.
On the other side, you have the state, the rulers, deciding who does what, how much stuff costs and where all the resources are best distributed.
Universal Breath
There is a metaphysical explanation for the meaning of the big bang, and the seeming paradox of entropy.
On one side, you have the second law of thermodynamics which says entropy must always increase.
On the other side, you have this phenomenon of increasingly complex systems spontaneously coming into existence, so long as there is some kind of energy and the raw ingredients.
Resonate With Power
The theory says that this is the ultimate resonance of Universal consciousness.
That this system of initial creation, and an increase in both entropy and complexity represents the breath of the universal mind.
That this is the base resonance frequency of universal consciousness.
Since this single cycle is already over 13 billion years old, it’s hard to predict how long one universal cycle is.
But the ancients must have understood this on some level.
Made In His Image
For example, the ancient Hebrew texts said that man was made in God’s image.
This could be our limited human understanding of this resonance cycle theory.
That all cycles are a function of the one, universal breath cycle.
That if you can learn to breath in resonance with this cycle, you will eventually align your mind with universal consciousness.
This idea of resonant cycles is found in all cultures.
And the idea of resonant frequencies are found in many areas of cycle, from biology to geography to electronics.
Start On One Side
According to some historians, all societies start on one end of the spectrum.
Individuals coming together on their own accord to build, or create, or grow food and trade with on another.
As societies grow larger and more complex, fueled by more and more energy from larger and more efficient crops, they move toward the other end of the spectrum.
When they get close enough to the other, where one entity attempts to control everything, that is when collapse happens.
Energy Goes Everybody Dies
When the flow of energy decreases, and the complex, emergent system can no longer survive.
As complex structures become more and more complex, the flow of necessary energy through them becomes a function of chaos theory.
Where one cannot predict what will happen with increases or decreases in the flow of energy.
Chaos Around The Corner
This is when complex systems are the most vulnerable to sudden and chaotic collapse.
Eventually the water shooting out of the holes in the ice will freeze, creating larger and larger volcanoes.
The existence of these volcanoes are very fragile.
Don’t Stand On Them
Fragile physically, which is why getting close is dangerous, as the ice is very thin.
But also fragile from a ocean resonance and temperature variable perspective.
Which means these things can build up very gradually and slowly.
But if the variables change in the wrong direction, they will suddenly collapse, and cease to exist.
