All Up To You
The world is a fantastic place.
No matter what time you live in, there is opportunities for massive wealth.
Or massive poverty.
This metaphor has been expressed in plenty of different ways.
The famous poem about two guys in prison, looking out of the window.
“Two guys looked out through prison bars.
One saw mud, one saw stars.”
Viktor Frankl’s famous book, “Man’s Search for Meaning” had a similar idea.
He was a neurologist who survived a Nazi Prison camp.
Being in a death camp of any kind is likely the worst human experience.
Being captured by a bunch of dudes who want to work you to death.
For most of human history, humans have been pretty vicious to each other.
Non Slave Era
Some historians estimate that before the Industrial Revolution (middle ages going back) to the invention of agriculture, 90% of humans have been slaves of some kind.
If you happened to live BEFORE the Industrial Revolution, you had a 90% chance of living a pretty bleak life.
One where a guy shows up to your farm every month and demands his cut.
If you don’t have it, you’d get a beating.
Yet with so much opportunity today, people are still waiting around on the sidelines.
Back in the day, before massive energy and technology, there were legitimate restraints.
Not a lot of people.
If you were lucky to find ONE girl to chill with that was a dream come true.
Not a lot of ways to make money.
So if you had enough money, ONCE or TWICE per year, to buys some CANDY, that was fantasy come true.
Walking In Broad Daylight
Today we have TONS of opportunities.
But for some reason, we have built up a the SAME amount of restraints.
But these restraints are physical.
Back in the day, if you talked to the wrong girl, you might get KILLED.
Today, the WORST that can happen is you’ll publicly rejected.
Not kicked out of the place.
Not have anything taken from you.
You can EVEN try your luck with another.
But we humans are SO creative, we can put emotional restraints on ourselves that are FAR more debilitating.
False Limitations
We are stuck TRAPPED in a mental cage that we are TERRIFIED of escaping from.
There are not electrical fences keeping you on the sidelines.
No snipers are waiting to kill you if you make a move on that girl or guy you’ve had your eyes on.
No dogs of death will be unleashed if you walk into a building to drop off your resume.
Get rid of the false cage you’ve constructed for your self.
Set yourself free.
