Deserving
There’s a famous scene in the movie, “Unforgiven.”
When Clint Eastwood puts behind his passive ways and becomes a stone cold killer.
They killed his friend, so he kills everybody.
Just before he’s about to blast Gene Hackman in the face with a shotgun, Hackman says:
“I don’t deserve to die like this…”
Eastwood replies:
“Deserve’s got nothing to do with it,” and then blasts him in the face.
A lot of people feel they “deserve” something.
Right And Wrong Deserve
However, this “deserve,” they way they describe it, seems like it means they “deserve” something without needing to put in the work.
This is a very common political marketing angle.
To promise create a system where people get what they “deserve.”
A decent house, job, respect, social status, etc.
On the other hand, when we try to get more than we have, we often subconsciously restrict ourselves.
We all have plenty of subconscious programs that deal with what we deserve, and what we think we deserve.
To avoid thinking in terms of false ideas propagated by political nonsense, the world is best combined with action.
Some things you feel you deserve, so they are easy to get.
If you believe you deserve a steak dinner, you go out and buy a steak dinner.
If you believe you deserve a week off from work, you talk to the boss, use your vacation time and take a week off from work.
Inner Blocks
But many times, we want things, but we don’t think we deserve them.
But getting a gorgeous relationship partner really is a mechanical thing.
Just like buying a steak dinner is a mechanical thing.
Sure, getting a gorgeous partner is a bit more complex and involved, but it’s still pretty mechanical.
Practice your social skills.
Talk to as many people as you can.
Plenty of those people you’ll click with.
Plenty of those people will like you as much as you like them.
And from within those people, choose the best one and you’re good to go.
But if, deep down, you don’t believe you deserve that, that simple process will seem terrifying.
Terrifying Mechanics
Talking to strangers will seem terrifying.
Whatever you truly believe you deserve, going out and doing what it takes will be mechanical.
Easy.
It may take a while, but so does re-building an engine.
The more you truly feel you deserve, the more of the good things in life will seem easy and mechanical.
