Old Laptop
I was cleaning out my closet and I found this stack of laptops. I’ve had a bunch of laptops in the past several years, so I went through them to see if any of them still turned on.
One did, so I figured I’d see if I could get it fixed up enough to watch streaming, while I’m doing other stuff on other PCs. I just got this new mixer where I can plug in bunch of different sources and send them to one headphone jack.
I took it down to a PC shop that specializes in used PC’s. It was pretty busy and there was another guy who seemed to have the same issue. We got to talking and decided to have a cup of coffee next door while we waited.
Low Level Judge
Turns out this guy is a judge. Not a powerful one, just a local guy on a local circuit. He does some consulting on the side. I guess he used to be a consultant for a few small tech companies before they went big time.
He asked me if I knew anything about investing in startups. A second level connection was asking him if he was interested. This one company had already got some VC money and he seemed to think that was a good sign.
But I explained that the way VC’s are desperate for unicorns these days they’ll throw money at pretty much anything. If they toss ten million at twenty different companies, all it really takes is for one them to hit it big, get an IPO eventually, and they’ll potentially make a hundred times their money.
Playing The Odds
So it’s not that they think any one particular company will hit it big. It’s more like that’s one company out of twenty or even fifty or a hundred they hope might hit it big. Actual earnings or even potential products doesn’t even matter any more.
This guy seemed excited to hear that, as these guys are working on some really advanced software. Apparently one of them found or bought on some black market, some texts that were originally allegedly written by Nikola Tesla.
Some people think he was some kind of crackpot that is more worshipped by fanboys than anything else, as nothing he ever invented ever actually turned into any technology.
Corrupt Bankers
According to him, the only reason his ideas didn’t pan out is they weren’t things that could easily be turned into profits. For example, he came up with an idea of sending electricity directly through the air without any wires.
JP Morgan actually backed Edison to make sure this didn’t happen. If they could send electricity without wires that would be very hard to control. People know there was a battle between Tesla and Edison about the delivery of electricity, but few know that Edison was bankrolled by JP Morgan, one of the original bankers of the Federal Reserve.
But some of other Tesla’s ideas were way ahead of their time. This is what those guys are working on. It turns out that his idea of free energy, energy that can be extracted from the air is something that certain people can naturally take advantage of.
Latent Psychic Abilities
People that are naturally psychic, for example, don’t actually have any mental skills that average people don’t have. It’s just that they have the ability to leverage this pre-existing free energy to augment the normal human levels of clairvoyance.
It’s their ability to leverage this free energy that makes them special. But this free energy has such a low signal level that it can be easily manipulated by modern software, either on a PC or a smartphone.
And that’s what these guys have built. They have essentially made an interface that allows anybody to use their device to leverage this free energy and calibrate it to their natural brainwaves.
Augmented Skills
So that when you do this, you’ll have psychic abilities. You’ll be able to read thoughts, project yourself astrally, have really intense and really long lucid dreams. It’s just a matter of finding the right calibration from the natural free energy in the atmosphere to your regular brainwaves.
That’s what this software does. It measures your brainwaves and the signal level of the natural free energy and then creates a calibration algorithm.
This allows you to read thoughts. This allows you to implant thoughts. This allows you to have lucid dreams. This can even allow you to predict the future.
Mind To Mind Communication
This will allow for communication directly from thought to thought. Of course, the security features will need to be worked out, but the lucid dreaming and astral projection abilities will be phenomenal.
There is a kind of disagreement among the developers though. Half think that they should develop it and sell it directly to the public. The other half believe that if they even try that, the military will shut them down and take it anyway, so they should sell it directly to them to begin with.
That’s one reason why they are interested in getting this judge on their side. He’s not so powerful himself, but he does have a few DC connections that might work.
Not A Way To Get Rich
I guess a low level judge like him doesn’t make a lot of money. He’s not really interested in climbing up the political ladder. He actually makes more consulting on the side than he does as a judge.
He did tell me that even at that low, local level, there is way more corruption than you could possibly imagine. That the entire country at this point is absolutely rife with corruption.
Which is something most people know anyway, but it’s kind of depressing to hear that straight from the horses mouth. I guess the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Printer Driver Updates
Turns out all I needed was to download a few driver updates and I’m good to go. My processor and memory make my old laptop pretty worthless for anything except streaming, or maybe doing some writing in Starbucks or whatever.
The rest of my laptops are all bricked. I guess even PC’s these days are built to only last a couple years or even less before you’re forced to buy more stuff.
