There’s a cool story about a golden Buddha.
The golden Buddha is real.
I’ve actually seen it.
It’s a popular tourist destination in Thailand.
It’s about two meters high, the kind of Buddha that is sitting there cross legged.
A very wise smile, and eyes slowly downward.
The story is that back during the 1300’s before their neighbors, The Burmese (now Myanmar) were getting ready to invade.
Not having nearly a big enough army to hold them off, they decided to “hide” all their valuable treasures, including the golden Buddha.
The Burmese invaded, laid waste to a few cities, and then left.
Where Is Everything?
But in the chaos, many of the Thais forget where they hid all the stuff.
So, a few hundred years later, some monk was cleaning what he thought was a clay Buddha.
A few pieces of clay broke off, revealing the gold that was inside.
This is a perfect metaphor for human nature.
We are born pure gold.
Fearless, happy, expressive, as extroverted as we can be.
But as we grow up, we cover ourselves with clay.
To protect ourselves.
Because we’ve all been taught, not by words, but by actions, that expressing yourself CAN be dangerous.
This is why EVERYBODY has social anxiety to a degree.
Everybody Has Clay
Nobody is NEARLY as outgoing as we used to be when we were very young.
The more “experience” or memories you have of being told to BE QUIET whenever you wanted to express yourself, this put on a layer of clay around your golden inner child.
But here’s the thing.
All those people who “taught” you to hide your gifts, they were adults, and you were children.
And those adults had a VESTED INTEREST in keeping you quiet.
AND they were either your blood relatives, or people who were PAID (teachers, etc.) to teach or help raise you.
As adults, when you look across the room, none of those people have ANY IDEA who you are.
Show Them Who You Are
So, how do they judge you, beyond, what you look like?
How you behave.
But specifically, what you BELIEVE about yourself.
If you BELIEVE you are low value, and NEED their approval, they will accept this.
You BELIEVE you are high value, and can make pretty much ANYBODY feel good because of YOU, they will believe this.
EVERYBODY is like this.
Everybody is waiting for the other person to go first.
Every says things like, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”
Everybody is waiting for PROOF, safely behind their clay shields.
Break out of your clay shield and shine like gold, and watch what happens.
Mind Persuasion has plenty of books and courses to teach you how to speak hypnotically and persuasively.
