Everybody wants something.
As soon as we get it? We want something else. This is human nature. It’s not wrong, it’s not evil.
If we were content to sit around with the bare minimum of sustenance and shelter, we’d never have evolved past the ape stage.
Those big burly silver back gorillas? All they really do all day is lie around and eat grass.
Humans, on the other hand, are always hungry. Hungry for more. More money, more resources, more stuff.
This is fantastic if you are in sales.
Why?
Because all you’ve got to do is develop some rapport, which is easy since that’s another part of our nature, and find out what they want.
Do a little digging, and get some more information about what they want.
Do this, and you’ll stand out like a homing beacon to a lost ship.
Why?
Most of us wander around telling everybody about ourselves.
A kind salesperson like you comes along, and actually asks questions about what THEY want?
As long you’ve got a close match, they’ll readily fork over the cash.
More money for you, more good stuff for them.
About as win-win as it gets.
