Money is a huge problem for most people, but in conception and practice.
For one, we never seem to have enough.
On another level, we’ve got all these messed up ideas about money. Money is evil, or making money requires some kind of horrible selfishness.
Sure, if you’re some kind of con artist, swindler, or bank robber, these are true.
But what if you’re not?
If you’re not “stealing” money, then the only way to make it is to help create something.
There’s a misconception in economics that when we buy something, for say, a dollar, that thing is “equal” to a dollar in value.
But consider this. Imagine you’re hanging out with your friend. And you guys exchange a dollar bill with each other.
Would that make you any happier? Of course not. If anybody saw you they’d wonder what the heck was wrong with you.
But when you buy something for a dollar, guess what? You’re a little bit happier, and so is the person who sold you whatever it was.
Because for BOTH of you, you wanted the other thing, the thing you didn’t have, more than the thing you did have.
In the case of buying something for a dollar, you want the thing, MORE THAN the dollar. Otherwise you wouldn’t have traded your dollar for the thing.
So whenever you buy something, or trade your money for the thing, you are better off, and so is the person who sold the thing. Purely win-win. This requires there’s no coercion, and everybody is trading based on their own free will.
So if you are pursuing more money, and you aren’t planning on conning people or robbing banks, the ONLY WAY to get it is to trade something you’ve got, for somebody’s money.
You can make it yourself, help make it, sell it, help sell it, whatever. Bottom line is whenever you get money (so long as you’re not pilfering little kids’ piggy banks) there is ALWAYS somebody on the other side of the trade who feels BETTER OFF.
It is, therefore, IMPOSSIBLE to get money WITHOUT making somebody, somewhere HAPPIER at the same time.
This is the first step along the road to wealth. In a very true sense, the world collectively WANTS YOU to make more money.
Because when you figure out how to make money, you’re also figuring out how to give people what they want.
The more money you’re making, the happier you’ll be making people.
The truth is that many of our “beliefs” about who we are when it comes to making money, expressing ourselves, and our ability to release our full potential are just plan wrong.
When you “undo” these false beliefs, and replace them with more supportive beliefs, you truly can create ANYTHING you want in life.
