Novel Writing Secrets
If you were to decide to write a novel, so you become famous, or maybe if you only wanted to become rich, you’d have unlimited options.
But your unlimited options would necessarily be constrained within common story structure.
There’s basically seven story types, 14 archetypes for the good guy, 14 archetypes for the bad guy, giving you over a thousand options to start from.
Man and God
One of the interesting things that happened as society evolved is the relationship between religion, or the gods, and the idea of political leadership.
Way back in the old days, if you moved from one city to another, you’d leave behind your old religion, or gods, and pick up a new religion or a new set of gods when you moved into your new city.
If one city battled against another city, people essentially assumed that the two groups of gods were also battling each other.
The stone age ended and the bronze age began when they accidentally discovered how to use bronze to make tools and weapons.
But many believe that there were, and still are, an ancient cult of alchemists who were careful not to let the political leaders have all the secrets of metallurgy.
That there were some metals, and come combinations of metals that were, and still are, much too powerful to be exposed to the general public.
The idea is this ancient cult of alchemic metallurgists are still operational and still safeguarding some very powerful secrets.
Most Important Civilization
It’s believed that the Proto Indo Europeans were a very important civilization.
Many of our mythological archetypes come from them.
Half of the world’s languages stem from the proto Indo European language.
Not much is known about them, only that they lived about 4000 BC, long before the first records of any society.
Not The First
But recent archeological evidence indicates that there may have been a previous, much more powerful group that predates the Proto Indo Europeans.
That this group lived in the prototypical garden of Eden.
They were small in number, and lived in this ideal location for several hundred generations.
Small And Hidden
They purposely kept their number small.
And they spent most of their time chanting, and meditating, and ingesting hallucinogens.
Archeological and genetic evidence indicates that this ancient and powerful group may have created the Proto Indo Europeans as first a hallucination.
Meaning they chanted and imagined this long enough, until this became real.
Magic Words and Thoughts
They ingested the right plants, they are able to chant the right words, they were able to maintain sufficient concentration.
Once they were able to do this over a long time period, that which they were hallucinating, the Proto Indo Europeans, became real.
These people are still operating today.
Cults Within Science
Only they are no longer alchemists.
They are a secret cult within the scientists.
They are the ones who first created the periodic table of the elements.
But they purposely put in mistakes, so it would appear that the periodic table contains all the elements.
But if you can find the mistakes, you can learn the secrets of these hidden elements.
Nobody is really sure how or why or when the gods became separate from the political leadership.
Gods vs. Men
Perhaps the battle all along was between the political leadership and the gods.
And once the gods became more powerful, the power structure changed.
Perhaps the gods were first hallucinated by humans, but then the gods took on lives and powers of their own.
Infinite Story Structure
If you add in all the different content structures over which to lay your story, you can have an infinite amount of possibilities.
Which means you can input any ideas or symbolism of metaphors into your stories that you like.
And if you write your novel carefully enough, some of the characters may actually come alive.
