Language Power
A slippery slope is the net outcome of a well written sales page.
The term “slippery slope” is used in a lot of different areas.
From a political standpoint, it means if you let this “one” bad thing “slide,” pretty soon it will get worse and worse.
They tend to refer to that one first thing as a slippery slope.
Generally speaking this is used in a negative way.
A slippery slope all the way to absolute and utter collapse.
But the slippery slope as a structure is very versatile.
To simply slide somebody’s thinking from one place to another.
This is part of the ancient art of rhetoric.
Way back in the day, rich Roman families would send their kids to rhetoric school.
Kind of like rich families today send their kids to Harvard or other ivy league schools.
Both for the same reason.
Today, rich families want their kids to make connections and get a good education.
So they send their kids to fancy schools.
Old School
Way back in the day, rich Romans would send their kids to schools of rhetoric for the same reason.
Back in the day, the better you were at Rhetoric, the better life you could lead.
Back in the day, before newspapers and TV, the better you could move minds with your words, the more powerful you could become.
This is just as true today.
Sure, if you’re a social media influencer, you’ve got a lot of pull.
But for most of us normal humans, all we’ve got is our brains and our words.
Our language.
How you use your language.
The colorful mental movies you can create with you language.
How well you can move minds from one place to another.
How easily you can persuade people with your slippery slope language.
Move Their Minds
This is not only insanely effective, but it’s very, very easy on the listener.
It’s very comfortable to let somebody else to your thinking.
That’s why they’ll enjoy it so much.
You’ll be painting some beautiful word pictures that slide them through sequences of pleasant emotions.
And they just need to listen, and go along for the ride.
Just like learning rhetoric could make or break a career back in the old days, learning slippery slope language can make or break your career.
And your social life.
And your love life.
And this is skill that’s easy to learn and easy to practice.
And nobody needs to know but you.
