Most people have given up looking for a decent relationship.
Well, not most, but a lot.
Most people are still living life old school.
Show up on Earth, go through school, get a job, fall in love with somebody, have a family and call it good.
But this is getting harder and harder.
Less and less natural.
More and more things that can pop up and ruin everything.
But consider this idea.
There are really three things that are critical to our survival.
Food, love and status.
Love, of course, means everything involving love.
Sex, intimacy, somebody who’s got your back, kids etc.
Food is obvious.
Status is the sum total of the opinion that all the people have about us.
Knowing all your friends respect and admire you feels good.
Knowing all your “friends” can’t stand you feels horrible.
Food, status and love are all connected.
At least they used to be.
The best providers got the most status.
The guys who had the most status were the most attractive.
Of course, just like modern food is mostly junk food, modern status is mostly junk status.
And unfortunately, modern love is mostly junk love.
If you can call it love.
But consider this.
The driving force of life before things got easy was a deep drive for MORE status.
Status that could ONLY come from more productivity.
Productivity means doing anything that other people admire and respect.
Things that actually HELP people in some way.
Wearing a bunch of expensive clothes you bought on your credit card doesn’t help anybody.
But creating things that people enjoy do.
Writing novels, playing up on stage, inventing new things, even helping people make a decision to buy something that THEY believe will help them.
Or even putting in an honest 9-5 at a factory job that produces things people need and enjoy.
All this is driven by a deep feeling, or desire for love.
If you already have wife and kids, then providing for them and seeing their genuine appreciation is a fantastic feeling.
If you don’t have a partner, continuing to work yourself up the status ladder, by producing more stuff that helps more people is a means to that end.
Either way, love is an ancient driver of success.
Or at least it used to be.
Today, if you abandon all hope, as many do, you are also abandoning the most powerful driver of human achievement.
This is why life can seem so frustrating for so many.
Even if true, honest, ancient romantic love is unlikely, striving toward it will give you a drive not felt by most modern humans.
And that ancient drive will change everything.
