So long as you’ve got the land, you can order a house, they’ll ship it to you, and you can put it together in a couple of days.
You do need to have some land to put it on, and a way to figure out the plumbing and source of electricity, but for 20 or 30 K, you can order a house online and move into it a couple weeks later.
Use Less Energy
There are plenty of ways to increase energy efficiency, which essentially means decreasing energy use.
Most of these are ways to either increase energy loss, or decrease energy use.
There are plenty of automated systems both for residences and big companies.
A common idea that is becoming a dream for many is to get off the grid completely.
Escape The Rat Race
Or to be able to afford to get off the grid.
Being able to permanently leave the rat race for good has long been a dream, and going off grid and being self-sufficient is really a modern manifestation of that ancient human dream of total freedom.
Physicists have long known about the dark universe.
That 90% of the matter and energy in the universe is undetectable.
They refer to this as dark matter and dark energy, since they know it’s there, but they can’t see it.
Free Energy Source?
But they have been doing plenty of research, investigating different ways to tap into the dark energy as one of the many alternative energy sources being under consideration.
There is a big debate in the scientific community whether this is really safe or a good idea.
That the dark universe exists, and has matter and energy is not in question
Matter Incompatibility
It’s how, specifically, this unknown energy and matter is configured which might be a problem.
If they open a portal, and the dark matter is incompatible with our matter, it might do irreparable harm to our universe, perhaps instantaneously.
Unlike disaster movies when everybody knows what’s coming, if dark matter is incompatible with our matter, it might lead to an instant vanishing of everything.
Thought Pattern Destruction
Other considerations are equally troubling.
There are very like sentient and intelligent entities of many kinds, but their thought process and language structure might be incompatible with ours.
Listening to their language or any attempt at communication might create irreversible brain damage.
Metal Damage – Brain Damage
This brain damage might not be immediate, or even discernable.
Listening to these words might lead to slowly evolving hallucinations.
The ratio of rational thought to hallucinated thought might be another consideration.
Not What You Expect
Mixing two pure metals of two different melting points can yield some interesting results.
Mixing two thought energy configurations, from our universe and the dark universe might also yield interesting results.
As your ratio of rational thought to hallucinated thought slowly shifts, you might not notice this.
Rewritten Memory Sinks
It might even rewrite your memories so the things you remember aren’t the way you remembered them yesterday.
And when you remember these words tomorrow, or next week, you will no doubt remember them much differently than you are experiencing them now.
Which may already be an indication that our observed reality has been already altered by alien thought processes.
But because our energy needs are so critical, especially at this point in human history, an alteration of our perceptions of reality may be an acceptable risk they’ve already decided to take.
Post Apocalyptic Tomatoes
I was watching a post apocalyptic movie which ended with a bunch of people growing tomatoes so it prompted me to do some research.
Using modern, post industrial technology, each human needs one acre to grow enough food to use for one year.
So if you are going to go completely off the grid, and not buy things from the economy you are not otherwise participating in, you’ll need a lot of land, and you’ll need to do a lot of work.
UN Zoo Theory
A troubling report by the UN commission on energy saving suggests that one way to save energy is to share as many walls with as many people as possible.
If you have detached house, you are losing a lot of heat through the walls.
The UN’s solution is to share as many walls with as many people as possible, to minimize the heat loss.
Heat and Sound Transfer
The trouble with this is that sound insulation is identical to heat insulation.
So if we you are sharing heat with your neighbors, you are also sharing all the sounds with your neighbors.
This means the UN’s solution for energy saving will require everybody to hear everybody else flush their toilets, have arguments and listen to everybody else’s TV shows in progress.
Zoo People
Just like animals in a zoo.
The downside to buying a tiny house off Amazon and setting it up in the forest is you’ll never truly be safe.
For one, you’ll always have to pay property taxes, so if you run out of money, the government will kick you off your own land.
And two, your local city council may decide to build a golf course, or a prison or a dump, since the Chinese aren’t taking any more of our garbage.
Only While They Let You
So you’ll only be allowed to live in your tiny Amazon house so long as the local city council decides it’s OK.
It might be a better idea to simply forget about all of this.
And go back to thinking about whatever you were thinking about a few minutes ago.
