There are a few ways to sell things to people.
One is to memorize a pitch.
Practice that pitch.
And spit it out to as many people as possible.
So long as you make enough money during a 40 hour week, with whatever sales you get, you’re good.
You can continue to calibrate this to get better and better.
This is also the strategy of many daters.
Memorize a few lines, create enough short term attraction to jump in the sack, and you’re good.
Both are pretty easy intellectually.
Then there are more elegant ways to persuade and seduce.
There are much more difficult intellectually.
And they require a lot more confidence.
Playing the smash and dash will get you a certain frequency of low quality partners.
Dialing For Dollars
Playing the phone sales numbers game will give a certain frequency of low dollar sales.
With more elegant persuasion and seduction, you decrease the frequency.
But you increase the quality.
For example, suppose you sold big ticket items like houses.
A single commission was $20K.
One sale per week would put you at $80K per month.
This would require some deep conversational skills.
To take some time to talk to your customers about what’s really important.
What they’d like for their future.
And the language skills to connect what they are looking for, with the items you’ve got in your inventory.
Patience For Riches
And each conversation with each successful home buyers would be several hours over several different meetings.
Lasting maybe a couple of months.
Patience, confidence and skills.
The same goes with dating.
You take your time talking to plenty of people.
Your criteria are much more numerous and much more complex than “hot enough and good to go.”
You have to talk to several candidates over a long enough time period.
But if you are patient enough?
Slow Secrets
If you are confident enough?
You could create a fantastic relationship with the right person.
Both of these examples, dating and selling, can be split into two categories.
Short game, and long game.
Short game puts quantity of quality.
It’s easy and simple and only requires enough confidence to muscle your way through enough rejections to get a sale or a lay.
But long game puts quality over quantity.
It requires much more confidence.
Reverse Polarity
Much more elegant and robust skills.
The costs of short game is it keeps you STUCK in the short game.
If all you know is the short game short game opportunities are all you can see.
Which is why most people are stuck in the short game.
They think that’s all their is.
But people ARE creating fantastic relationships with fantastic people.
People are getting fat commissions on big ticket items that take months of conversations.
They are there.
It’s just that most people refuse to see them.
What about you?
