Living Puzzle
Life is a strange thing.
Nobody knows for sure what it is.
Sure, we can describe life compared to non-life.
Life moves around, changes, consumes energy.
One thing about life is it is an example of an “emergent system.”
You can study oxygen until you’re blue in the face.
You can study hydrogen until you’re blue in the face.
But NOTHING about either of those two will let you predict what water (two hydrogens and an oxygen) will be like.
This is emergence.
Level Up
The whole being much greater than the sum of its parts.
Life is the supreme example of emergence.
You put a whole bunch of inorganic compounds together.
They hook up somehow, and POOF!
You get life.
And life is always getting more complex.
So long as there is a steady energy source (the sun) life keeps getting more and more complex.
Take away the energy, and you get increasing entropy.
Increasing disorder.
The opposite of emergence.
Life is always moving forward.
Always expanding.
Always growing.
Self Driven
Individuals are, or can be, the same.
Always getting better.
Always growing.
Always gaining in skills and knowledge and experience.
To more efficiently and effectively interact with the world and “extract” what you need.
This is best as a non-zero-sum.
When it’s possible for EVERYBODY to keep getting better.
Everybody keeps making stuff and inventing stuff and modifying stuff.
Populations keep increasing, wealth keeps increasing, lives keep getting better.
Everybody has the obligation to get in the game and prosper.
Self Sustaining
The more you prosper, the more you help others.
You can’t prosper, at least in an honest system, without helping others.
Sure, there are, and always will be, cheaters.
Those who game the system at the expense of others.
Those dudes have been around since the dawn of time.
They are like parasites.
Parasites of the human world.
Steer clear of them and you’ll be fine.
So far, this sounds pretty good, right?
Keep learning, keep growing, keep increasing wealth, keep increasing the number of happy healthy relationship?
Mental Trap
There is one trap that is all too common.
And it’s not the parasites out in the world holding you back.
It’s the parasites of the mind.
The negative thought patterns keeping your stuck.
But you have the power to release them.
To cut them loose so they stop dragging you down.
Doing so will make you more ambitious than ever.
More resilient than ever.
More attractive than ever.
