Acting Poker Players
One interesting paradox, that isn’t really a paradox when you dive a little bit beneath the surface, is celebrity poker tournaments.
On one hand, these celebrities are usually actors, which means they get paid millions of dollars to purposely be congruent with fake emotions when they are playing parts of imaginary people.
Yet these very same people, who are the best on the planet in getting into the mind of a completely fictional character, are horrible at hiding their real emotions when playing poker.
Their tells are blatant to anybody watching.
Absorption Into The Whole
The more people live together, the more they start to do the same things, think the same thoughts, and in some cases, even fall into the same biological cycles.
One of the cool developments in technology is the creation of mind reading technology.
This is a case of pure data collection and finding statistical correlations.
Brainwave Reading
You hook up a brainwave reading machine to a person’s head, and have them think certain thoughts, and measure the brainwaves when they are thinking these certain thoughts.
If you collect detailed enough data from enough people, with sensitive enough equipment, eventually you’ll be able to correlate the brainwaves to the thoughts.
Which means eventually, once they create equipment that is sensitive enough, and they have big enough databases with enough correlated data, they’ll be able to read your thoughts more and more accurately.
Distance Mind Reading
Without even knowing how or why, eventually they’ll be able to read your thoughts from a distance.
All they would need is a robust enough database, linking specific thoughts to specific brainwave patterns, and a sensitive enough remote brainwave reading device, and they can read anybody’s thoughts from a distance.
Theoretically, maybe in fifty years or so once technology increases enough, they’ll have satellites capable of reading everybody’s thoughts in real time.
Which means that, theoretically, if anybody thinks a thought they aren’t supposed to think, they can be instantly vaporized by whatever advanced weapons they dream up in a few decades.
Self Aware Illusions
There are two basic models for our self awareness and our consciousness.
There is the single point theory, that says that each one of us is an individual, we have free will, and that our own mind is the central point of the universe.
But there is a much more robust model, that has been demonstrated though recent and extensive research.
Sell These To People
They call this the multi-level consciousness singularity.
It basically says there is really only one consciousness, but this one consciousness has multiple levels, perhaps an infinite number.
From our own consciousness perspective, we can only see plus or minus a few levels.
This is similar to the ant hill or beehive as singular entity theory.
Bees Don’t Philosophize
That even though we can look at a single ant or a single bee, and consider it a singular entity, because it can’t survive on its own, it can’t really be considered as a singular entity.
Like ants and bees, all humans are born and live completely dependent and interdependent on other humans.
Very much like our cells can be considered as singular entities, they can’t ever come into existence on their own, and they can’t survive on their own.
Each cell has it’s local level self awareness and understanding.
Human Cells Within Structures
Each human has our own local self awareness and understanding.
There is also some kind of planetary consciousness that has it’s owns self awareness and understanding.
To the extent that we can understand the self awareness of our own individual cells, and they ours, that’s the relationship between us and our planetary consciousness.
Universal Singularities
Then there is a universal consciousness which would be made up of all the individual planetary consciousness.
It goes infinitely large, and infinitely small.
But we can only comprehend plus or minus one, perhaps two levels.
Of course, this also goes both ways.
Replacement Thoughts
Once they learn to read thoughts from a distance, they likely won’t waste the energy of destroying people who think the wrong thoughts.
They would probably just implant more correct thoughts.
They would essentially be the same as repairing cancerous cells that simply removing them.
And the problem with having external thoughts implanted into your mind, there is no way to tell the difference.
Multiple Matrix Hallucinations
Which means this may have already been happening for quite some time.
Since everything you know about your reality is based on the thoughts in your mind.
And you have no way of knowing if those thoughts were created by you, or if they were put there by somebody else.
Even halfway skilled therapists have known for years how easy it is to implant false thoughts into your mind.
We Are One
Once you join a group, you essentially get absorbed into the whole.
Young men, for example, may have extremely chaotic and diverse schedules and biological rhythms.
But once they join the marines, for example, they speak the same language, create the same body styles, develop the same thinking patterns, and even eat, shave and defecate on the same schedules.
Resistance Is Futile
They lose their singularity and join a much larger collective.
Of course, from an individual consciousness level, it’s appropriate to refer to this as a collective.
But our own individual cells, in their own individual way, may refer to our own mind body system as a collective, against which resistance is futile.
Of course, practicing emotions over and over is one thing.
No Tell Remains Hidden
Maintaining a certain emotional state in the face of unknown and evolving conditions is a completely different skill set.
Which is why it makes perfect sense that professional actors would make the absolute worst poker players.
