There’s this pretty cool hobby shop in my neighborhood.
Most of the time this is a normal place, selling normal hobby type things to normal people.
But every couple of months they have these really intense underground tournaments.
Where they try and make this as absolutely as possible.
Trip To The Sea
I went down to the beach recently, it’s a bit of a drive, and I saw quite a few homeless people hanging out.
More than I remembered, but there were still plenty of tourists and other people that were there to spend money and have fun.
I saw this one guy sitting on a short brick wall separating the sand from the cement boardwalk.
He was playing a harmonica, and at first I thought he was just playing random notes.
But the more I decided to pay attention to this the more I realized this was not just random.
It was in a blues key and in a blues chord progression.
Not His First Rodeo
The this guy was pretty good.
This guy had done this before.
Everywhere you look there are cycles.
Good and Bad
Some cycles are virtuous, and good things beget more good things.
Some cycles are vicious, and they feed on themselves and create bad things.
Unfortunately, these bad things tend to give the vicious cycle going.
Since entropy will tend to increase, vicious cycles are much easier to be self sustaining compared to virtuous cycles.
Entropy Is Not Our Friend
Virtuous cycles tend to create positive outcomes but they need constant inputs.
Most of the thing we think of as life forms have similar cycles.
Plants bloom every spring.
Birds migrate every winter.
Everybody Different Drummer
But some plants and animals have very strange cycles.
Like some Cicadas, for example, only emerge as adults every 13 or 17 years.
Some plants only bloom every seven years.
One strange plant blooms every seven years, but happens to be the favorite food of rats.
Every seven years the plants bloom, the rat population explodes, but the rats live much longer than the plants.
This means that after all the plants die, the hungry rats remain behind.
And the hungry rats tend to eat anything they can find.
Paleontologists are starting to suspect there is a little known class of reptiles that have a cycle of about 20,000 years.
20,000 Cycle of Destruction
Every 20,000 years, they pop up, and live for a couple hundred years.
This is one theory why, despite being humans for the past 100,000 years, we didn’t invent agriculture until 10,000 years ago.
This means that ancient humans, just like us, with the same language and intellectual capabilities, roamed the earth for 80,000 years without ever figuring out how to deliberately grow things.
Not Always Apex Predators
A recent theory is that these ancient reptiles saw humans as their major food source.
And if humans ever gathered in a large enough society, these reptiles would essentially eat everybody.
Which is they only were capable of creating large societies after these large reptiles have finished their cycle.
The idea is that these are the real historical creates upon which the mythological dragon is based on.
You’ll find ideas of large deadly reptiles in every culture.
They believe that within the next decade, they will start another 20,000 year cycle.
The Piper’s Not Coming
Which means this is why governments are creating tons of debt without really being concerned with ever paying it off.
Because they know that once these reptiles re-emerge in the next decade or so, society as we know it will cease to exist.
Healthy societies have a large economic based from which to draw taxes.
These taxes pay for the police and other infrastructure that keeps the economic virtuous cycle going.
But in many U.S. cities, the virtuous cycle has turned into a vicious cycle.
Businesses are leaving, which is decreasing the tax base.
Less tax revenue means less police services.
Which means the police need to switch into triage mode, and only focus on the most important crimes.
No Dead Body – No Cops
This means that property crimes are being ignored.
Which means more homeless people will realize they can steal things and not get caught.
They sell these things, buy drugs, which of course, attracts drug dealers.
Evil Begets Evil
This continues the vicious cycle.
Tax revenue decreases, police services decrease, crime increases, and the cycle keeps going until the entire city becomes a no go zone.
He stopped right in the middle of the song and stared at me.
Sorry Bro, Didn’t Mean To Stare
I hadn’t realized I was staring, I was just enjoying him playing.
He looked at me and said:
I know what you are thinking.
I know what you are afraid of.
You think this is all a hallucination.
You think this is all made up.
Let me tell you, that this is very, very real.
Huge Underground Tournament
They close down the shop for three or four days.
They spend a day or two coming up a custom made, role playing game, that only requires cards.
Then once they all agree on the rules, they invite certain players.
Big Cash Game
The buy in per player is $25,000.
Whichever team or individual wins gets everything.
This underground tournament goes as a long as it needs to.
Don’t Tell Anybody About This
Since this is technically illegal, they keep this as secret as possible.
Because if anybody finds out about this there will be a lot of angry people.
Mind Persuasion has plenty of books and courses to teach you how to speak hypnotically and persuasively.
