I mean, this is in English, but I remember it making me a lot of brainpower to be able to understand these words.

I go to this barber sometimes to get my head shaved.

He takes a lot of time, and he uses a straight razor.

But whenever it’s the two of us, he always goes off into these really interesting metaphysical tangents.

Like one moment, he’ll be talking about something normal, and next thing you’ll be in the middle of this really esoteric, really deep conversation.

Really Pay Attention

Like you really want to pay attention to this.

There’s this really small church in my neighborhood.

It’s in an extremely wealthy neighborhood.

The church itself is small, but it just resonates with this energy.

Attractive Energy

This really powerful, really attractive energy.

I’ve wanted to go inside for a while, but I’ve always felt a little intimidated.

Finally I decided to go to a service, just to see what kind of people come here on Sunday.

Only Twelve People

But there were only twelve people.

All scattered around the church.

Nobody was sitting next to anybody else.

Enter The Priest

Then the preacher came out.

But it had to have been the most boring service I’d ever been to.

No music, no signing, no passing the basket.

He just came out, and read from this sheet for about 45 minutes.

Nodding And Amening

I kept looking around, and all the people listened politely and nodded in the right places.

I could hear them say amen in the right places.

But I just couldn’t understand this.

I couldn’t interpret this.

Come On Back

As I was leaving, an old woman, one of the twelve, came up to me.

She seemed very shy, but if she said, “If you want, you can come back later tonight,” and then she walked away.

Didn’t tell me what time or anything.

Why Are We Physical Beings

There’s a theory about why we decided to become physical beings>

That there is a reason why we decided to make the transition between spiritual beings and physical beings.

The physical world is made up of plenty of dichotomies.

Wealth and Power

For example, you have rich and poor.

You have power and wealth.

You have wealth and currency.

Good and Evil

You have good and evil.

You can mix these together in interesting ways.

Currency, for example, can be seen as potential wealth.

Make Money Spend Money

The more you can make money the more things you can buy with the money.

But money is like hunger.

The more you consume, the more you want to consume.

Different Wants

Another common dichotomy is what really want, and what we think we want.

If you are poor, you think you only need a certain amount of money.

If you are wealthy, you’ll always want more money.

From inside our own brains, it can be very hard to understand this.

Spiritual Understanding

But from the spiritual side it is very easy to comprehend this.

Very easy to appreciate this.

We like to watch movies because of catharsis.

We like to feel the emotions without the danger they are normally associated with.

It’s Going To Be OK

But from a spiritual side, where you know that everything is going to be fine, our physical selves is catharsis.

Most of the movies we watch are to generate the emotions, and at the same time we know everything is going to turn out OK.

From our spiritual side, we become physical beings so we can feel the emotions and know that everything is going to turn out OK.

Check It Out

I decided to come back later that night, and sat in the parking lot for a little bit.

Then I saw the twelve slowly come in and go into a side room.

Finally the old woman saw me, and motioned me to follow inside.

I did, and it was the same twelve, the preacher, and me.

Hey, Man

The preacher looked at me, smiled and nodded.

Nobody said anything.

The preacher closed his eyes and starting chanting.

I didn’t understand the language.

And I don’t know when, but I had my eyes closes, and I had started to chant.

Magical Chants

This chant made me feel incredible.

It made me feel spiritual.

It made me feel extremely peaceful.

I don’t remember when this ended.

I don’t remember now long this lasted.

I think he just likes talking about the metaphysical side.

This guy rarely makes much sense.

But as soon as there are only two of us in his barber shop, this guy(S) goes off on all these wild tangents.

He told me those books were written back when homeopathic medicine was very popular.

Ancient Medicine

When this was very useful.

When this could heal people.

But then Rockefeller took over.

Chemical Dealer

Commissioned the Flexner report.

And launched the pharmaceutical and medical industrial complex.

Which essentially destroyed thousands of years of homeopathic medicine that had been carefully calibrated to the human condition.
