Time To Win
Battlefield speeches are pretty good.
Especially in well written movies that purposely lead up to pivotal battles.
The final battles in Lord of the Rings, Braveheart, 300, are all very, very inspiring.
One of my favorite historical battles is from Marathon, way back in the day.
Athenians vs. Persians.
The Persians landed and were getting ready on the beach.
The Athenians showed up and were getting ready to rumble.
The Athenians sent a runner to Sparta to ask for help.
They Spartans were busy.
On the way back, as the story goes, the runner met the god Pan.
Pan said if you build me a temple in Athens, I’ll help you guys beat the Persians.
Pan, according to legend, caused people to flee in fear.
Which is where the word “panic” comes from.
Inspired by this, the Athenians changed their battle plan slightly.
They’d used this method a few times before, and it worked well.
This is a common movie fighting style, but at the time the Persians had never seen it before.
Anyhow, the Athenians are marching toward the Persians.
The Persians are marching toward the Athenians.
On Like Donkey Kong
When they had closed the distance to a couple hundred years, the Athenians start running.
Sprinting at the Persians with furious anger.
Screaming like some crazy Viking Berserkers.
The Persians freaked out.
They completely lost their cool, and got the cracked kicked out of them.
They Persians collected themselves, over the next few days.
They decided to sail around and attack Athens directly.
But by the time they got there, the Athenians had already arrived, and were ready to rumble again.
The Persians said, “screw this,” and went home with their tails between their legs.
This is some serious, old school masculinity.
Genuine leadership and genuine soldiers.
Ready to risk their lives to protect their homeland.
Today, this kind of behavior is very, very rare.
Both in the leadership and in the citizens.
Every Chest Same Heart
But we are still humans.
We still want something to fight for.
We still need something to fight for.
We still need strong leaders that command GENUINE respect.
We need leaders that will actually lead, instead of give commands from behind a desk.
And from plenty of experiments, anybody can be a leader, based on the situation.
So long as you have a good idea of where you are going, you can lead.
So long as you have a good idea of human nature, what it wants, what it craves, you can lead.
So long as you have the confidence to get up and speak like a leader, people will flock to you.
Modern humans are starved for this kind of thing.
Fill this gap, and conquer yourself an empire.
