Life Imitates Art
There’s a TV show I just started watching.
Called “The Old Man” with Jeff Bridges.
A pretty common theme.
Ex trained assassin trying to live a normal life, but then “they” try and pull him back into the fray.
But he told one story, and it was a story within a story kind of thing.
He was cooking dinner for this lady.
And she asked where he learned how to cook.
He said he learned from this one guy he used to know.
And then that guy (that he learned to cook from) told him a story.
And in that deeply buried story, it was a about a “wise old man,” who liked to tend his garden.
Gardens are very metaphorical and very flexible.
And this “wise old man” never spoke.
Because this “wise old man” thought that words only confused the message.
He communicated by cooking the stuff he grew in his garden.
Words can, very, very much confuse the message.
Particularly if you use too many words.
If you’re frame isn’t 100%, which is extremely difficult, the more words you use the easier it is to destroy your frame.
Don’t Talk To Cops
Kind of how attorneys say NEVER talk to the cops without an attorney present.
The more you say, the more likely what you say “will be used against you in a court of law.”
Many people have talked themselves out of a sale.
They got a girl interested, but they can’t read the signs.
So they keep talking.
And they talk her OUT of being interested.
Or a sales person has got a customer ready to buy.
But they are too nervous to notice the signs and keep talking.
Then they don’t have a customer ready to buy.
They have a customer leaving.
And a salesperson wondering WTF just happened.
Less Is Better
More words is always dangerous.
Less words are always better.
(Unless you’re writing an essay and it has to be 1000 words or something.)
And the stronger your frame is, the less words you need.
The more charisma you are projecting, the less words you need.
How do you get a strong frame and some charisma.
One way is to play the long game.
To always have a view of your life in six months from now.
Future Is Always Better
To imagine all the ladies you’ll engage with in the next six months.
To imagine all the money you’ll make in the next six months.
To imagine all the good times you’ll have in the next sixth months.
This will make you MUCH more attractive and charismatic than most dudes out their living their YOLO lives.
