Find Some Food
Ancient humans were always hungry.
Ancient humans were always horny.
The guy who could kill the biggest animal got the biggest rewards.
Imagine this from the receiving end.
Say it’s been a week since you ate something substantial.
Maybe a few roots here and there, but nothing really filling.
Finally you’ve found a place where there’s evidence of some big animals.
All the dudes go out hunting.
One guy comes back with a couple squirrels.
Another guy comes back with a small dear, maybe enough for five people.
But then fifteen guys come back dragging a huge animal.
Our Savior
It’s clear the guy walking out in front is the leader.
That guy is responsible for the delicious food EVERYBODY will be eating for the next week.
Now the money question.
Would anybody COMPLAIN about that particular animal?
“Awe, really? Buffalo again? Couldn’t you have killed something more delicious?”
No way.
Way back then, you got whatever you could get.
In fact, for most of human history, we were just like any other animal.
Just getting enough to eat was always a dangerous struggle.
Too Much To Eat
Today, there is food everywhere.
So, we don’t have to worry about starving.
But we do have plenty of problems on the other side.
Way back then, those who had the STRONGEST hunger instinct survived.
They were the MOST LIKELY to eat as much as they could.
So they had enough stored during the lean times.
That instinct STILL lives inside us.
All You Can Eat
Most people today are pretty much DRIVEN by this ancient instinct.
But if you want to be healthy, you must MANAGE this instinct.
You must choose your food carefully.
You must choose how much you eat carefully.
You must choose your activities, and things like sleep and how you handle stress.
For ancient humans, the environment did all this FOR us.
Self Regulation
Today, we must do it ourselves.
The most successful people with regards to health are the BEST at “qualifying” their health decisions.
Of using their rational brains, not their ancient instincts, to do their choosing for them.
Nobody had to qualify anything back then.
You got what you got and that was it.
Instinct Management
Today, EVERYTHING must be qualified.
At least if you want to live a happy life.
Very much like food, SEX today is relatively easy to get.
But if you ONLY get whatever you can, without regard to quality, your emotional state will be JUST LIKE the health of somebody who lets their instincts do their eating.
But if you want to have a healthy emotional state, you must qualify romantic and sex partners JUST AS RUTHLESSLY as an athlete qualifies their health choices.
The same goes for money.
If you ONLY care about a paycheck, you are risking your life learning the wrong skills in the wrong industry.
To be successful in today’s chaotic world, you must QUALIFY EVERYTHING.
Continuously.
Ruthlessly.
Deliberately.
